ANTHRAX not only continue to tour the globe relentlessly - including being part of The Big 4, alongside MEGADETH, METALLICA and new labelmates SLAYER - they even find themselves guest-starring in an episode of famous US TV show "Married…with Children". Now ANTHRAX are about to release Chile On Hell, a live-in-concert DVD featuring footage filmed at the Teatro Caupolican in Santiago, Chile on May 10, 2013. For the Chile On Hell show ANTHRAX performed an extended set that featured songs from the band's entire back-catalogue. So get ready to mosh in the privacy of your own home with multiple Grammy-nominated thrash masters ANTHRAX! The band's current incarnation includes vocalist Joey Belladonna, bassist Frank Bello, drummer Charlie Benante and last remaining founding member and guitarist Scott Ian. SHADOWS FALL guitarist Jon Donais, who has been touring with ANTHRAX since Rob Caggiano's departure in January 2013, handled the lead-guitar parts at the Santiago show. "Santiago was the perfect place to film the show for this," said ANTHRAX drummer Charlie Benante. "When we'd played there in the past, we'd finish our set, play our encore and go back to the dressing room. But every time, the fans would continue to scream and cheer and clap. I mean, they went on and on, they wouldn't stop.Why wouldn't we want to film a DVD in front of an audience like that?" "Plus," Benante continued, "the time was right to do this DVD… We wanted to finish on a high note. We didn't want to look back and regret that we didn't record the live show." A good show overall but they add a cover of "TNT by AC/DC which aint really wanted. They also suffer the same songs as done on their other dvds. Worth getting if your a fan...

I was at the show and I expected to see how they captured it on bluray. Really perfect, catched the spirit of that night, we were a crazy crowd that sings even the melodies and solos, in Chile we love metal and really the shows here are something like that. The crowd really commited with the band performance and the musicians always loved the feedback. You can see Scott smiling and looking the audience. Despite that, the sound mix is really good and the filming also well made. I really enjoyed watching this show, sent me again to that maginal night where this band, one of my top 3 lifebands, and Chile were one....Just play it loud and enjoy with a beer.

Schon oft habe ich mich über das System zur Bewertung bei Amazon "geärgert". Und Chile on Hell ist wieder so ein Beispiel dafür. 4* sind eigentlich zuviel(aus meiner Sicht!).3* aber auch zuwenig. Der halbe Stern muß her :-)! Bild, Ton, Stimmung (wie nicht anders zu erwarten!) alles TOP!ABER ich habe ein Problem damit, das man die John Bush Ära einfach aussen vor lässt!7Jahre und viele viele tolle Songs sollte man nicht einfach in die Tonne kloppen!Safe Home, Cadillac Rock Box, Big Fat, Fueled und so weiter! Eine Schande! Und Joey Belladonna, ja was soll man sagen? Es gab schon immer sowohl Pro als auch Contra was ihn angeht. Für mich ist er ein Sänger der Kategorie Durchschnitt und nach dieser Live Veröffentlichung fühle ich mich bestätigt. Er reisst nich gerade den Hering vom Teller und sein Stageacting wirkt immer noch so, ich sag mal seltsam, wie vor 30 Jahren. Auch scheint die Chemie zwischen den einzelnen Bandmitgliedern nicht gerade optimal zu sein. Interaction untereinander findet kaum statt. Sollten doch die Leute Recht haben, die von einer Geschäftsbeziehung, aber keiner persönlich positiven zueinander schreiben? Man könnte den Eindruck gewinnen wenn man sich die 119 Minuten (Bonusmaterial FEHLANZEIGE!) ansieht. Fazit:Ein Konzert bei dem die Technische Umsetzung und Stimmung im Publikum besser ist als die Performance der Band.Die Songauswahl geht auf Nummer sicher und ich frage mich, warum man soviel weglässt. Vielleicht weil dann der Qualitätsunterschied zwischen Belladonna und Bush deutlich würde? Irgendwie ist mir das Ganze zu kalkuliert und will nicht so richtig zünden. 6,5 von 10*
