Reissue of this 1994 release by the Swedish Death Metal mongers. This was the their third album and their final with growling vocalist/bassist Jorgen Sandstorm, who left to join Entombed. EMI. 2006.

THIS PRODUCT IS A CHEAP COPY ON CDR.

Old school jams
Some of the jammiest death metal ever. This is Grave at its finest. Riffs galore. What more can I say. Love it

Soulless to the Core
Grave was one of the original "Big 4" of Swedish death metal, along with Entombed, Unleashed, and Dismember. Out of the four, Grave was always known as the most doom-influenced. They made slow, plodding, apocalyptic riffs their trademark, and also showed a knack for swing on their second album, You'll Never See. On album number three, Soulless, some would say Grave shifted into territory that was then becoming known as death 'n' roll, where traditional death metal sounds were mixed with a crunchy, hard rock vibe. The speed was definitely toned down, but I'd argue that the heaviness was not. This was considered close to a masterpiece when it was released in 1994. It seamless mixed a death metal stomp with an infectiously swinging groove. The vocals were still growled, but more understandably so that you could hear the lyrics. Lyrical content still focused on morbid horrific topics involving death, torture, murder......typical stuff for the genre, but with ironic twists that also set Grave apart. For death metal fans looking for a starting point with Grave, the previous one, You'll Never See, would be better, but Soulless is every bit as good an album. One of the best of the mid-90's.

Bludgeoning death metal from these legends
Definitely buy Grave's other 5 star releases 'Into the Grave' and 'Youll Never See...' They are all essential Swedish death metal releases. 'Soulless' is probably my favorite of them for the simple reason that the songs are more memorable, the production even better and the riffs even sicker. They did slow their pace overall on this release, but that doesn't bother me. I'm not a stickler for speed. If you are, or if you want extreme technicality, then this isn't for you. This CD blew me away when it came out and it holds up to the test of the time. Some people whine that they are "death n roll" or more "groovy" on this release. Don't let them scare you off.

Masterpiece Brutal Epic
This album is a death metal masterpiece and should be in every death fan's collection! Since my first listen it has captivated my soul to hold this album as a legendary masterpiece in brutal death metal. The rawness and brutality found on this album is hard to come by even from previous Grave albums (haven't heard any of their new albums). But this is probably the climax of their discography.I highly recommend picking up this album as it is one the most solid death albums you will ever hear. The production is excellent (which helps) and the songs are catchy and very addictive. Most of the songs are slow to mid paced and are all in their perfect spot on the album.A must have!
