Gave this to my son for christmas, we love the looks of it and comes in a nice box but the compass doesn't work. So it really defeats the purpose. It needs to sit on a completely flat surface for about a minute for the needle to stabilize (which when you are outdoors is not practical) and once it does stabilize it doesn't point north.So overall just a nice gadget in a box that does nothing. Not useful and really expensive for that.If you want a compass, then don't buy this.
