Outstanding Offshore Knife
The knife is a solid five star knife. It replaced my version I received in the US Navy back in 1998 that fell into Lake Michigan this summer. I liked the Gen 2 scales (the handle)being made of Micarta as opposed to G10 as I find Micarta is not as slippery when hands are sweaty or wet. The leather sheath is an improvement over the Nylon/Velcro sheath my original came with but the marlin spike holder seems flimsy to me, but then, I was purchasing a knife, not a sheath.I have been on the water professionally for over 29 years, 10 with the Navy, 13 with the Coast Guard, and 6 with the Merchant Marines and my original knife performed like a champ. It is funny that I would be on a sail boat for relaxation when I lose the knife overboard.
