Put in freezer before install
Put them in freezer a few hours or the night before and just hammer in with a wooden block. These went on the CE Smith trailer smoothly. Time will tell if they hold up to salt water.

Must have for any trailer
I highly recommend that you have bearing buddies (BB) on your trailer hubs unless you want to be that guy on the side of the road fixing a burnt out bearing. After you ensure that your bearings are in great working order, buy a set of these to add additional protection to make sure your bearings get the grease they need to work properly. All you have to do is buy the correct size BB for your trailer, snug them on to the hub and fill with grease. I bought the stainless steel BB for boat trailer use. I filled them with marine grade bearing grease and check the grease level once a year.To check the grease level is easy, on the inside flat portion, simply push your finger on it and if it moves inward, add grease. You'll know when you fill it up as it'll squirt out the edges when it's full. Now to prevent the grease from dirtying up your wheels/boat, buy a pair of BB bra to cover the BB up.Overall I will never own another trailer without buying bearing buddies for them.

Great axle savers!
I've been through 3 axles on the same trailer in 3 years, because my employees and I can't seem to remember to check the grease often enough. Don't know why I didn't put a set of these on after the first time! D'oh! For all those who have trouble getting these on, just line them up nice and straight, put a block of wood on top, then use a 3# sledgehammer to drive them home. A nice tight fit means that these won't fall off on the highway.

Good.
First of I wanted to point out that this Bearing Buddy does NOT come with the rubber dust caps (AKA: Bearing Buddy Bra). I called Bearing Buddy and they said that the covers are included with some Bearing Buddies and it depends on what style packaging the retailer chooses. I purchased these to replace a Bearing Buddy that flew off my popup camper about 10 minutes into our trip after installing them. I may have made the mistake of greasing the mating surface between the Bearing Buddy and the hub - something the folks at BB confirmed that should not be done. Wish me luck!

1 Fell off. 1 leaky Zerk fitting. 1 leaks around the spring and back plate
1 Fell off. 1 leaky Zerk fitting. 1 leaks around the spring and back plate. My personal feeling is that the quality has gone down compared to years ago. One out of four fell off within the first few miles of a trip and it was installed correctly and i used a wooden block and rubber mallet after seating it on there square and straight. And after the installation of two others; one had a constant leak in the Zerk grease fitting, just spit it all right back out into the bra; and the second one all the grease purged out around the spring and backing plate into the bra.So I have 1 out of 4 that seems to work the way I expect it to, but how long with that last! I found some dust caps with removable rubber plugs and that's what I will gradually move to as things fall off or leak with grease. Less expensive and possibly more logical and reasonable of an answer to protecting bearings. Get the dust cap with removable rubber grommet/cap instead. These made me look into the Vortex hubs since their threaded. I think Bearing Buddies' threaded buddies would be good option if you could find a way to thread your hub. I'm not going to replace my bearing buddy's with other bearing buddy's, but going to use dust caps.

Work as expected, good quality.
The original chrome bearing protectors that these replaced were pretty pock-marked.Made of stainless steel, these ones will likely outlast the hubs.

Good unit, picture is wrong
Item works very well, it does keep the grease and dirt out. The picture is not correct, it shows the bearing buddy not the protector. Makes for confusion
