Just an excellent sounding Fuzz pedal.
Like others here I also picked up this Fuzz pedal after seeing the Cuvave demo on Youtube. And I heard the warning about these subsequent brand pedals that lack a noise gate and perhaps don't sound as good as the original. Well, the one I received, like some others here, has a noise gate and it sounds great. No noise. Like all pedals you have to find the sweet spots, and there are a few on this one. I'm pleasantly surprised by how good it sounds. At 12 o'clock it's transparent with nice crackling fuzz. It's thick, clear and round in the lows and crackling in the mid and highs. Tons of clear, deep low end. You even get some velcro sounds at 2pm. I don't like it at full blast though. It gets muddy and overly saturated for what I do.. Although, I suppose if you dial your guitar back there are great undertones to be had. Listen, this pedal hits above its class. I have it on a board with premium boutique pedals and it's not out of place in the slightest. I've read and heard that it doesn't' perform well after buffers or buffered pedals, so I put it at the front on my chain before my 2 overdrives and before my modulation pedals. Is this a common thing with Fuzz? Anyway, It's a solid pedal. Don't hesitate. And have fun. Best to you folks.

Oh, Just Buy It!!
This is an amazing over the top gated fuzz pedal!! Even if you think you'd never need one, just get it and slap it onto your pedalboard.......you'll thank me later!

the cuvave fuzz as featured on 60 cycle hum youtube channel
alright SO i was hoping it would say "sharkchili" on it, since that makes no sense but it doesnt, it says CUVAVE. it doesnt really have the "velcro ripping" gatey sound, but i really like it, its a thick powerful fuzz and for the price it really sounds great. i think that other fuzzes like the musiclily "fuzz" or the sonicake "fazy cream" (more of a big muff really) sound better but its still great and so cheap. i saw a youtube video of how to modify it to give the velcro gate sound back but i like it how it is and i dont feel like soldering a resistor the size of a speck of dust onto this tiny pcb

Lots of Personality For a Collection, Maybe Not A Primary Go-To
An excellent velcro-ripping bright tone with tons of presence when the fuzz control is maxed and some nice grungy distortions happening below that on the dial. You can also turn down the guitar's volume for some glitchy, heavily gated, broken / starved tones that are really fun for percussive playing, especially with single coils. I would highly recommend this as an addition to a fuzz collection, its just really unique and an easy impulse buy if you're just needing a new sound (I'd also recommend the Donner Fuzz Seeker for the same reason). My only gripe is that this one just doesn't do well with other pedals. I've found that the tone I want out of it is only available with nothing in front of OR behind it. This is subjective so you might like the way it sits in your chain, just be aware that other pedals (even when bypassed) will noticeable influence the characteristics of the Cuvave. This is no big deal for recording or playing at home but I won't be adding this to the pedalboard for that reason. Really happy to have it though, its cheap and a blast to play.

Not what I was hoping for.
I bought this pedal after watching a 60 Cycle Hum YouTube video with Josh Scott of JHS. They marveled at the tones, said it sounded like a Big Muff. The one I received did not sound good to my ear. I believe you get what you pay for in many cases. I have some "cheap" pedals that sound great. And so it goes, sometimes you get lucky with a "cheap" pedal and sometimes you don't. I returned it.

Not gated version, purchased 10/22, also just not very good
I knew that it was a gamble - would it be gated like the 60 Cycle Hum vid or not???? Mine wasn’t, but moreover it doesn’t feel like a very usable fuzz to me. The noise floor didn’t really bother me, but it had a really weird response to picking dynamics - hard picking would compress and sound quieter and then string squeaks and pick attack sounds would cut through and be louder. Like opposite of what you want. I could make it do that less using split coil rather than humbucker, and turning the guitar volume down, but I want my fuzz loud and disgusting! In a way that’s fun and inspiring. This fuzz was puzzling and kinda off putting.

Cube Baby AC Guitar Multi Effects - muffles tone and has 11ms latency
This Cube Baby AC Guitar Multi Effects is kind of amazing - dirt cheap, rechargeable, IRs plus effects, and tiny but well-made. But it has two unfortunate drawbacks: 1. The input impedance is too low for a proper guitar pedal effect, so that the tone of a typical guitar gets muffled compared to not having the device inline. (A way around this is to use a buffered pedal, like a Boss pedal, prior to this Cube Baby. This preserves the high frequencies and overall tone.) 2. The latency is noticeable at 11ms. I measured it (as have others) and this is even with all effects bypassed. I'd pay triple for the same pedal that that didn't have these issues.

Love the pedal, but for one issue!
The button is extremely difficult to press. I suspect low quality part or zero quality control. It’s a real shame as the actual pedal is fantastic other than the button :/
