The sharp edge gets under the prints and lets you pry them up easily. I used a sharpening stone to dull the corners of the blade to prevent gouging the kapton tape on the print bed.I used a slightly different version of this scraper for the same purpose for a long time, but it had a square handle and the corners of the handle used to hurt my hand.
