Does this cane have a 3/4" diameter cane shaft? I'm considering adding a spring loaded flex tip. Is this a good idea for someone who limps? Thanks

The shaft is 1/2". I don't know anything about a spring loaded flex tip. I believe the poles would be very helpful for someone who limps. I have a friend who uses different lengths on the poles when he is in the snow to accomodate the terrain. I love using the poles when I am walking, and I am approaching 80.

I weigh 200 and will be hiking in Tetons then on rocky Burren in Ireland. Can these take the work and wear?

We got 2 sets and were just back from Patagonia. We had problems for one set just on the 2nd day of W trek in Torres del Paine, Chile. One folding part didn't insert to another one. We had to return. But another one used by my wife worked fine even after heavily used for about 10 days of mountain hiking. She weighs about 130.

They collapse down to 15.5" but when connected can go from 42 to about 53 inches (covers folks from 5'3" or so to about 6'6)
