Premium feel without the premium price
Hereโs a more engaging, polished product review that keeps your honest experience and reads more naturally: After weighing up the much pricier Primos Gen 3 tripod, I decided to save some money and give the Fiery Deer a try โ and so far, Iโm glad I did. First impressions are genuinely positive. The build quality feels excellent, especially for the price, and it immediately gives the impression of being sturdy and reliable. It definitely punches above its weight in terms of value for money. At 5ft 10, I was also pleased to find it extends high enough to comfortably shoot at an upward angle without feeling restricted, which was an important factor for me. My only real criticism is that the adjustment mechanism doesnโt feel quite as smooth as its more expensive rival. The trigger takes a firmer press than expected, and adjusting the leg height needs a bit more force. Having tried the Primos at several exhibitions, thereโs no denying it operates more fluidly. That said, Iโm hopeful the mechanism will loosen up over time with use. More importantly, itโs a minor gripe rather than a dealbreaker and certainly not enough to affect my overall impression. Considering the price difference, the Fiery Deer still feels like a fantastic bit of kit and excellent value for money.

Excellent sticks
Excellent shooting sticks with a solid build quality, release trigger is quite stiff but that's nit picking, and i suppose the legs could have been finished in green rather than black for better camouflage. All in all though these are excellent with good build and nearly half the price of primos sticks and next day delivery what more can you ask for well pleased.

Good, but seems to be the earlier Gen 2
Like so many people these days, I have a nuisance caused by rats that chew through wooden outbuildings and pretty much everything else that takes their fancy. These critters seem to be occasional and transitory, but it's imperative I don't allow them to become permanent. It is therefore a constant battle to keep these rodents at bay. Having two dogs, I needed to look for a non-toxic solution to the rat problem in case the dogs found the bait, so a quality air rifle topped the list of viable options. Once acquired, I honed my shooting skills but soon found a good quality rifle rest was needed for absolute stability, so I turned to good old reliable Amazon for inspiration and a quick turn-around time. Two of the most suitable types of rifle rest are colloquially known as Gen 2 and superceded by the Gen 3. There are subtle differences between the two. Although I'm sure both are good at what they do, the one I bought as a Gen 3 strongly resembles an earlier Gen 2, a minor oversight which I'm sure the manufacturers would wish to correct and clear away any lingering doubts. Hence only 4 stars.

Solid support for my air rifle
The title of this review says it all, really... I needed a stand for my air rifle (trying to make inroads into the rat population in my out-buildings) in the dark (with a TV/IR sight). Shooting standing is tricky even by day for an "amateur" shooter, so any help is a bonus. This product is pretty well engineered, very stable and the V-notch cradles the gun nicely. You can remove the V-notch headpiece very easily and use an adapter to mount a camera, or a gun mount (so that it is securely fixed to the tripod) if you want. A gentle squeeze of the trigger on the head-piece releases the "brakes" on the 3 legs and you just move the headpiece to the new position, release the trigger and it is now stable in the new position. You can also flip the separate locking lever downwards to lock the trigger (designed so that knocking the trigger by mistake won't cause the legs to telescope and collapse), flip it upwards to unlock it again - all one-handed operation, so that your other hand controls the gun. The upshot of all that is that you can very quickly and silently move the headpiece, and therefore the gun, to a new position so you don't have to move your feet, risking rustling any leaves on the ground, and spooking the rats you're trying to plink.

It's okish
Ordered after reading reviews and all I can say is I've obviously got higher expectations than others. The tipod is ok, does what it's supposed to but for ยฃ87.95 I'd expect better quality. The parts where the legs meet the head are plastic which I can't see lasting too long, if you happened to open the legs too wide it'd break very easily. These parts could do with being metal. To be honest other than that it's ok. The trigger works well, the rest is fairly robust and it's extends high enough, although at it's lowest it may be tricky shooting sitting down. All in all, it does what's required but for how long I don't know

Good quality to price ratio.
-1 star for improper size, stated as max 180cm/71" but delivered version with 165cm/65" max. Luckily seems that it barely fits for my 190cm body height. Will need more practical tests to see if it will be perfect match. Anyway good first impression, all working as expected.
