GVM 100W Bi-Color LED Video Light, Photography Lighting with Bowens Mount, APP Control System, Lantern Softbox Video Lighting Kit for YouTube Outdoor Studio, Dimmable 3200K-5600K, CRI 97+

I purchased this to film some videos and I was very impressed. Was very easy to set up and put away each time I used it. Really liked the adjustability of the light. Only recommendation I would have is to weigh down the stand because it tends to fall over.

I have 2 other GVM 80W models and have been happy with them so got this 100W model as it has adjustable color temperature. This is a great feature to have when doing photo or video work in an environment that already has existing lighting you want to match. The power output is actually nearly identical to the basic 80W model (which does not have color temp control or the remote capabilities). Both output a very usable amount of light that I measured at about 16.4 EV at ISO 400. This is a relative number so please don’t use it for any scientific comparisons :-) We use the light for livestreaming video in our church and the quietness of the fan is very important. It is barely noticeable at a foot away and measured 35 dB average. This is with some slight outside traffic noise too, but is still considered “quiet library” level. The included lantern soft box is interesting and unique in that it provides soft frontal illumination for your subject (see my goofy selfie) and also provides some all around room illumination. If you prefer more controlled and direct lighting, you can use any Bowens mount light modifier and I have others in my stash that I can swap easily when needed. The light quality is clean and consistent and the color looks very accurate. the digital display for color temp and power level is useful for accurately reproducing a lighting setup. I have not used the remote app yet, as it is not really needed in our situation, but it is a nice feature to have if you want to adjust your lights on the fly while filming or if they are in a hard to reach spot. What could be improved? • the adjustable bracket is somewhat flimsy feeling, but it works fine and has not failed. • bracket could balance heavier modifiers better if it could slide forward and back to find a better balance point. • Lantern modifier came out of the package with some screws loose on the speed ring, but they were easy to tighten back up. What’s great? • Amazing amount of light and functionality at this price point • Quiet fan is good for video work where noise must be kept to a minimum. • The light itself feels very solid and sturdily built • Digital controls for easy repeat settings • Standard Bowens mount accepts many other modifiers • Great color accuracy and light quality

As I continue to build out my lighting kit for commercial clients and doc work, I'm always looking for that line between cost and quality. I'm stoked to have found this product which seems to fit in that perfect slot of "I can count on this for years, but if it falls off a cliff, I'll order another one tomorrow." PROS: * Often when buying something like this, I open it up and immediately throw away the useless bags. I like the bag the light comes in and will continue to use it. Thank you for thinking this through GVM. * Size! I won't call it small, but I would say highly portable. I could easily fit 3-4 of them with their bags in my favorite large pelican. I could see having one less checked gear back for my travel work utilizing these as opposed to some other lights I have. * Output + Bi-Color. This is huge. I hate gelling lights. I'm often solo or have a small crew, time means everything. Dial it in and go. This portable light is BRIGHT. * Bowens mount fits my other softboxes. Versatile. * The lantern softbox is super handy and quick to assemble It popped open in an instant. Great addition to help shape light. * Controlled by App. This is HUGE if the light is hung in a difficult to reach area, on a boom, perhaps over a table. Thank you technology. * The AC cord is actually of decent length. CONS: While I wouldn't say people order this kit for the light stand, it does come with one. I always want to make sure my instruments are on an amazing stand. This stand likely won't get used for this light, but will serve a purpose in the kit for still photography or a floor kicker light. Stands are like chips, some are better than others, but at the end of the day, it's still a chip/stand. I'll take it (and use it.) Very happy with this addition!

Another brilliant product from GVM. The bi color makes it a very versatile light because you can add warmth to your video or photos without having to gel the light. The lantern diffuser makes a very nice all around light that is capable of bathing a room in a very soft light without any harsh shadows. Having this with my other GVM lights is very nice because I can now control everything from one app Likes: Nice diffused light throughout the room Nice metal construction Metal Bowens mount Powerful light output for a bi color 90 watt light The lantern assembles very quickly and is a solid piece. Dislikes: Loud fan - The fan can be heard from across the room even when running on low power. Overall I have found GVM's products to be of good quality and a great all around value.

For a 90 Watt LED production light, this is an absolute steal. I'm not sure how they did it, but GVM has managed to pack in some very high level features in a shockingly good price. They give you a wide color variant from 3200K to 5600K as well as dim controls, all controlled by high quality knobs in the back. The fan motor is also extremely quiet, so you don't have to worry about production mics picking it up. The included soft box is also amazing. It was simple to assemble (I created a demo video showing how to put together) and attach to the light itself. I also love that you can control everything from an app as well. Just download the free app and it's easy to connect from there. All in all this is a great light with a lot of great features. I highly recommend.

I was quite surprised and pleased when I opened up the packaging and saw the quality of the equipment. The stand is large and sturdy, and holds the light easily. Once I got it set up (which was very easy - I like the design of the soft box, it’s far easier to set up than others I have used), I was impressed with the brightness and quality of the light. The soft box does a great job of diffusing the light, and the light itself has adjustments for brightness and color temperature. Great value for a versatile light!

I used this new GVM light and was very careful and excited to see what it could do. My very first shoot with it I was adjusting the stands height and the lock feature stopped tightening and now it moves all over the place. The legs on the stand are also horrible quality and all 3 bent, and they ALSO do not lock. This $270 light is now absolute garbage all because the poor craftsman ship and it is unusable.

Wer eine qualitativ sehr hochwertige Softbox für Videos sucht, ist hier genau richtig! Ich habe drei kleinere YouTube Kanäle, bei denen ich mittlerweile immer professionellere Videos produziere. Beim ganzes Studio ist von GVM ausgestattet. Ich bin sehr überzeugt von dieser Marke und deren Qualität. Das ist meine erste Softbox und ich freue mich, dass ich mich für diese Laternen Form entschieden haben. 💡 Trasport Hard Case Wie ich es von GVM gewohnt bin, ist auch die Verpackung ausgezeichnet. Die Lampe selbst ist mit Reflektor und Kabeln gemeinsam n einer passenden kleinen Hardbox Tasche verstaut. Ideal auch zum Mitnehmen. Das Stativ hat keine Tasche und der große Laternen Softbox Schirm ist in einer länglichen passenden Tasche verstaut. 💡 Lampe Die Lampe ist natürlich LED und stufenlos steuerbar in Farbe von 3200 bis 5600 Kelvin. In der Leuchtstärke von 10% beginnen in 1% Schritten. 💡 Master Slave Ich verwende die Master Slave Funktion hauptsächlich bei den GVM LED Videoleuchten. Auch diese Softbox kann mittels Master Slave angesteuert werden. Aber ich habe zurzeit nur eine in Verwendung, also für mich zurzeit noch relativ uninteressant. 💡 Stativ Das Stativ ist wie von GVM typisch. Wer die GVM Stative kennt, kennt auch dieses hier. Es ist einfach, schnell und stabil. Das Stativ ist nicht so hochwertig wie die Lampe und der Schirm selbst, aber absolut ausreichend und angemessen. 💡 Laternen Schirm Der Laternen Schirm gehört einmalig "aufgebaut". Wobei nur die Hülle über das Gestänge geschoben gehört, und das wars schon. Danach kann der Schirm so belassen werden und bei neuerlichen aufbauen bleibt die Hülle einfach oben. Die Laternen-Form ist ideal für weiches Lichts. Ich glaube niemand der sich diese Softbox kauft, muss man den Vorteil eines Schirms erklären. 💡 APP Die App verwende ich für diese Softbox nicht, ich kenne die App aber von den anderen Video-Leuchten. Die App ist einfach, gut und funktional. Absolut zu gebrauchen! 💡 Fazit Wer eine hochwertige Video Studio Softbox sucht, ist mit dieser Laternen-Form bestimmt zufrieden. Von GVM bekommt man diese für vergleichsweise zur Qualität gemessen sehr geringes Geld! Klare Kaufempfehlung.
