I say if they didn't feel ill after it sitting in open air for 4 hours, then the stuff sealed in a bottle and stored out of sunlight is fine. It's a dietary supplement, not a vaccine or penicillin. I view it mostly as a legal requirement for those that might live in environments that could degrade the effectiveness... Like someone who lives in a shack on the beach in the tropics.
