I bought a grapple hook as well as the boom does not come with one. Works well, is easy to operate and honestly I don't have any complaints. No, the welds are not perfect and I bet the powder coat on it will flake with some time, but, for the price and performance, it can't be beat. Would it hold up to 5000lb logs? I don't know, but for medium to smaller logs it's great. After doing some logging, I had a 20'+ elm come down on our place in a storm. Diameter at the base where it broke was around 10". Hooked up the entire broken tree and easily dragged it uphill to the burn pile whole. I think I'm gonna get a lot of use out of this simple implement.
