Anchor Hocking 10-Piece TrueSeal Storage Set, Green

I bought this set a while back on Amazon and also purchased some rectangular anchor containers elsewhere. Overall, I am very happy with them and will buy a couple more.Pros:1. You all know--Fridge, freezer, microwave, oven. Can't beat that.2. Clean, clear, heavy duty glass so no stains, odors or food absorption (lids are plastic, though.)3. A really decent seal. I freeze soups and sauces and they do very well in the freezer for a couple of months.4. Not too hard to put the lids on. Just a bit of stretch and pressure all around the lid. You must make sure that you have the lids all the way on. I actually like the need to press hard to seal as it makes me feel as though it is really on tight.5. Dishwasher safe. I always put the glass in the dishwasher and sometimes the lids in the top rack. No problems with lids so far in dishwasher.6. I like containers that stack so I can save space. The rectangular containers that I bought separately have slightly flared sides so several of the same size can be stacked, saving a lot of cupboard space.7. These are heavy compared to plastic.Cons:1. Plastic lids can absorb odors and food stains (e.g., tomatoes, curry). I stretch a small piece of plastic wrap over the container rims and then seal with the lids. Keeps those nasty red stains away but this is an extra step I should not have to do.2. It is hard to tell what size each container is. On the smaller pieces especially, you can barely read the container size on the bottom. Nearly invisible. I'm not good at eyeballing size so I poured water in to test and just memorized the sizes for future use.3. The sizes stated on the bottom, at least some of the containers, are not accurate. They actually hold about a third of a cup less than what is advertised here and what the container states. This may be a problem for some although it is not a serious one for me.4. Sometimes it is hard to get the lids off. Again, this makes me feel as though they form a good seal so I can deal with it.5. The round containers sold here have straight sides. The two 2-cup containers that come with this set can stack a bit but not completely so you probably wouldn't want to put more than two or three together. If you need several round containers of the same size, you will need more space to store them. This whole set stacks well enough.6. These are heavy compared to plastic.

Overall, this is a great product and by far my favorite food storage set I have had. I was using plastic before, but threw all my old set away due to the danger of using plastic repeatedly. There are certainly pros and cons for this set, but it is a solid product and I ended up buying a second set.Pros:1. These containers stack well together, other than the second 2-cup container (see pic). It has to sit all alone!2. My containers were leak-proof for the short-term. I did not store any liquids with the containers on their side, but I left them upside down and sideways for 5 minutes or so with water in them and no liquid broke through the seal. For those whose lids are leaky, perhaps pressing the lid to seal it fully will help. I also do not put my lids in the dishwasher to help them keep their shape, as previous containers I have used have lost their shape with repeated dishwasher use.3. The glass is heavy-duty, and I have dropped these from the counter to the floor a couple of times with no shattering or cracking.4. These seal well for the freezer. I put a layer of plastic wrap over the open container then put on the lid, and has no issue with freezer burn or changed taste.5. The glass does not absorb odors or stains from food.Cons1. As other reviewers have mentioned, the lids are made in China and are plastic #7. This is the biggest con. (note: you can see the plastic type along the green rim of the lid - see picture)2. While dropping these on the hard floor did not break them, the glass has chipped along the edge of one of the containers (see picture). My husband dropped a bowl on it while he was washing it in the sink, and a shard of glass came off. Now we check the edge every time we eat to maker sure there are no new chips in any of the dishes that may have gotten glass in our food.3. The lids stain easily, but this can be remedied by washing them as soon as we are done with them. Eventually, even tomato sauce stains have come out of the lids after a few washes.All in all, these are great containers. I may even buy some more when we need more storage.

UPDATE: June 14, 2011I thought I had found that The Set of Storage for me; however, I just discovered a chip on the top of one of these and in the trash it went, top and bottom. I cannot tell anyone how sad that is but with such a short use period I certainly did not expect such poor performance. In looking back I cannot find anyone or reason for what happened except a manufacturing fault from the factory. Oh, well. I'll keep on looking.I have had these for a while and honestly enjoy using them. No cracks in the glass so far even though another set I recently purchased cracked quickly and cost considerably more than this set. The sizes fit my needs quite well and make storage a snap. Un-storage is also easy even though the tops want to stay on the container. After a little struggle it's on to cooking or whatever. I was oh so looking forward to having a glass set that had tops that did not absorb odors and was sadly disappointed. Each top enjoys the bowl's content as much as I do and the only difference is that I can get rid of my odors but the tops cannot. Yesterday, I took the largest top and first placed it in straight bleach for an hour or so. It still smelled like cantaloupe. I washed it off and let it air dry and still smelled the cantaloupe and no bleach. I then placed the top in straight vinegar with identical results. I tried placing the top in water and then added vinegar and baking soda. I obtained the results I wanted: lots of foaming and bubbling but I did not resolve my odor problem. Bottom line: don't store cantaloupe in the containers and for the most part most other odor relieving forms of food. Overall, these are decent storage pieces but I will shop for another set, soon.

Uno de los envases tiene un defecto de apariencia muy marcado en el cristal.

Sin pensar los recomiendo ampliamente, he usado esta marca por muchos años y he tenido con anterioridad los refractarios rectangulares, por lo que al ver estos de forma circular no pensé en comprarlos, la tapa sella super bien, mantiene los alimentos super frescos por mucho tiempo, yo los he metido al horno y al congelador y sin problema han resistido.
