It's OK
New to Mac but long experience with Pc's & Microsoft and all my files on Word & Excel, I had to have MS 2011 for Mac or otherwise stick with a PC. Transition was easy but there are variables and added complexity which in my view are unnecessary. There of course is no manual and the online help is too sketchy especially for graphing. The Missing Manual by Pogue is helpful but it too is short on tech help. So in sum, it's good and a must have if you are switching to Mac. On the other hand, it embellishes too much on the more straight forward V2007.

Excellent value
Book was in great condition. In my first 10 minutes with the book I think I put more wear on it than it had had before I bought it. Shipping was fast, trackable, and free. This vendor gets on my Repeat list.

Lots of accessible information
There is a lot of information here and pretty accessible. Being a geezer, I respond faster to books than googling something, but I am slowly dirfting that way. As usual, MS moved the same old functions to new places. Most are more intuitive, but I need help finding them. The book does that most of the time.

Its a good book and the best one I have bought and I have bought several. Excel is very challenging and the book starts with the very basics although I think there could have been a few more basic definitions.

The Best of All for Mac Excel
As with the majority of Excel programmers, I began using spreadsheets on the PC. When I much later switched to using Mac platforms, I could only describe the differences between the two Excel implementations as quirky, especially when it comes to dates. This book is the only one I have found that clearly explains all of the Mac nuances.

Book is OK, but not as complete as it should be; it doesn't cover a lot of the mathematical/finance functions, and how to use them.

but some omissions are just terrible. As an example
I have used spreadsheets since they first existed. I'm dealing with Excel for the MAC, but some omissions are just terrible. As an example, try to find the explanation for the Fill function under the Edit pull down doesn't exist. You won't find it in the index. I found numerous other examples when the text did not match the release and the Index failed. Copying cells with other cell references, do not adjust properly. I attribute this to poor programming.

expected it to be more accurate
buying a specific excel 2011 for mac book would suggest you have an error free guide about the all functions. After only ready the first 100 pages I had to find out myself changed versions of keyboard shortcuts and could not replicate some of the functions that were described in the book. a bit annoying and frustrating. If you want to get an overall overview of the features of Excel I guess it s an alright purchase.

Awful
Awful!Book length is 465 pages; I have read 33% of the book (150 pages) and have now come to an example on how to add a couple of numbers together using SUM. The previous pages just go on and on about interface and configuration etc. This kills the reads interest before they get to the part they bought the book for; yes summing numbers etc.

Lacking In Expectation
Bought for information on how to use macros in Excel 2011 for Mac as Excel macros for use on PCs is quite different. Unfortunately very few pages dedicated to macros, so a waste of money in my case.

Good Reference Book
Seems ideal to help me with a spreadsheet project, to help me out with my patchy spreadsheet skills, learned infermally over the years.
