Chip Quik SMDTCLF Solder Tip Tinner/Cleaner (Lead Free)

Does as promised. Seems to work. i have never used this before. If you have not either, it is a very hard metal looking liquid. When you put your hot soldering iron in it it starts to melt like butter almost, but only around the tip. You have to move it around and it does seem to help with soldering. I did like that they did put some double stick foam tape on the bottom so I can attach it to my work table out of the way so it does not move around. It was smaller than I expected, but I was not disappointed by the size, just surprised. It is probably about 2 inches wide in diameter (guess). It is probably listed in the description.

this is my third time buying now. The container is smaller, but lasts a good amount of time - dependent on how often you solder. I solder daily and it lasts me a couple months. Super happy i found this product because I have tossed a few tips in the past that I could have probably saved with this cleaner now. Thank you!!

While this is not a magical product, it's a helpful one.

This stuff works great, the people who have trouble getting it to work must not be cleaning their tip after using it. It's best to use a brass sponge after you dip it in the tinner, it comes out clean and shiny. Great item.

The only complaint I could imagine having would be that, as a beginner, this product could be a bit confusing, given that absolutely zero instructions are provided on the product. That aside, this tip tinner works quite well and I believe ChipQuik makes good stuff. Please don't add more packaging to print instructions or, god forbid, a manual. Consider redesigning the label to include concise instructions and you've got a near-perfect tip tinning solution.

Works like a charm once you get the hang of it. Secret is to use as low a temperature as will allow the product to coat the tip so it doesn't burn off. A much more convenient and economical solution than constantly ordering new soldering tips, that's for sure.

If you do any electronics soldering by hand, your soldering tip will eventually get gunked up by old solder and flux residue. Dipping the tip into this will restore wettability, and thermal conduction. One can could last a year in a busy shop, where multiple users have to share a soldering station (and someone always forgets to shut off the soldering iron, which ends up ruining the tip).

This product works well and it cleans/tins solder tip great!

A. Incredibly small tin B. Nothing in the tin? There was just a thin layer in bottom of tin, marks are from where I was trying to dip my tip in - Impossible and certainly not good value for money.
