Old Dutch 4 Piece Hammered Brushed Nickel Canister Set (1943)

These canisters are a perfect addition to our newly remodeled kitchen. They coordinate with our silverware. They are well-made for the price point. The size of the canisters is perfect for flour sugar and two other items. There is an airtight seal at the top as well

Beautiful on my kitchen counter and the perfect size for flour, sugar, and extra things.

Needed an opaque, air tight container to hold 2.5 lbs of ground coffee (specifically, Costco/Kirkland’s Ground Medium Roast.) The largest container is the winner. (Wish they sold just the largest container solo, as that was the only one needed.)These containers have a thick silicone band projecting from the top of each lid. The big container started with a very tight fit, making opening a bit difficult, but it’s been loosening up with use, making it easier to open.When you pour coffee grounds from the bag into the container, do a few gentle taps on the counter to settled them. This will allow the entire bag to fit with room for the silicone seal/rim. Don’t throw the resealable bag though! Sometimes the entire bag doesn’t fit and a bit is leftover. (Guess those are the lucky, overfilled bags.)Happy with nicer appearance of coffee grounds stored in this container than in a branded can or bag. Easier to scoop, dispense, and seems to stay fresher, too.Weight conversion: 2.5 lbs coffee is also 40 oz, or 1.13 kg for metric fans.

I really like the canisters. They look great on the counter and they're easy to clean. I did get one canister that did not close well so I put hot water on the plastic rim and put a rubber band on the canister to hold it down. The next morning it loosened up the glue holding the plastic in place and now the lid closes real tight.

The most important thing that I was looking for in a canister set other than size and style was that the lids had a tight fit and these fit the bill on all fronts! They are nice to look at, easy to clean, hold a full bag of flour, and sugar along with a small bag of cornmeal with ease. I use the smallest one to hold Splenda, if you do this just be very careful when taking the lid off that one or you'll be A Lot sweeter than you want to be! 😂 These fit on my counter top with room to spare and look great! When this set gets old and worn I'll most likely buy another set to replace them with!

What I like - The finish /color. The hammered finish is beautiful and they are much heavier in weight than I expected.What I don't like - The small container is really small.I was looking for something to store my dry goods and replace my previous set which was more decorative than anything else.This set coordinates really well with the other fixtures in my kitchen and looks great on my counter without being the center of attention. The seals are great and time will tell if they perform as needed. (to seal out those little critters that seem to like flour and corn meal)

Worst made product I have ever purchased from Amazon. Very poor quality. Returned.
