My kitten gobbles this down!
I suddenly found myself with a feral kitten that we had to bottle feed then transition to solid food. This was the first kibble food I bought her. The company is fairly local to me and we can get it local, but I prefer to order on Amazon and do autoship. I've raised my ragdoll adult cat on grain-free food, and she's so healthy and her coat so beautiful. I just started with grain free for my little Talullah. The kitten cries when her bowl is empty to let us know we need to serve her highness. Everyone tries to steal her food, because it smells and tastes great, so I have to feed Talullah in another place. She doesn't gorge on this food like ferals often do in the beginning. I just wish Kitten food was a little less expensive. Her coat is luxurious and soft and she's growing so fast. This food agrees with her so well. Isn't she absolutely perfect? Signed....a proud kitten mom.

Greatly improved the health of my cats & they love the flavor too!
I love the Merrick Before Grain products. My cats love them and they have had no digestive problems since I switched. I regularly purchase the adult "Merrick Before Grain #1 Chicken Dry Cat Food" through Amazon Subscribe and Save. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001709GF2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I purchased the kitten food for our new kitten and the cats seemed to like this just as well. In fact the adult cats seemed to like the kitten version while the kitten seemed to prefer the adult cat food. That being the case, they all get fed the adult food now. Merrick Before Grain Cat foods are wonderful. It seems that 99.9 percent of cat foods on the market contain grains - sometimes in spite of the fact that they claim to be grain free. This line of cat food is the only one that I found to truly contain no grains. And it is one of the better priced high quality cat foods that I could find! I found that my cats have been much more healthy since I switched to feeding Merrick Before Grains.* I would add just one note... I cannot afford higher quality canned cat food, and the lower priced canned food are a completely unhealthy choice. Thus I no longer feed them canned food, and Merrick seems to meet all of their nutritional needs. I do however occasionally add approximately 1 tablespoon of flax seed oil to the food to make up for the oils missed. Their coats are shiny and healthy and they are far more active than they were before the switch!

SAFER FOR YOUR CATS
I think for feeding my cats dry, this is one of the better brands as it doesn't contain careenagen which is known to cause health problems and tumors in animals (also in humans by the way). I have two kittens and I wanted to be sure they got adequate kitten nutrition as I also feed Natural Instinct wet food to my cats (which also lacks careenagen). I find Merrick brand to be better than some of the other "wellness" type of dry foods. If you read the label and see a lot of "meat meal" vs "real meat" it is a bad sign. Also my kittens like it. I also like that it doesn't contain a fish smell a tell tale sign they are using fish by products or soy which is also not good. In fact fish based cat food is linked to causing hyperthyroidism in cats. We just lost our beloved cat of 15 years to hyperthyroidism and we are convinced it was not only aging but the cat food we were feeding. We feel horrible that we didn't know this sooner so that we could adjust the food and maybe preserve his life. But after much research I felt good about buying this in addition to wet food. I feel that is the best way to honor my sweet boys memory by doing the research as I am a nutrition coach by profession. It's very important to pay attention to labels even for our furry friends. We thought we were doing the right thing, but after really looking closely at the label and researching hyperthyroidism causes this is the conclusion we have come to.

Seems to work for sensitive tummies!
This is the only food my elderly cat consistently keeps down. I know it's for kittens, but we have tried too many others to want to continue trying. Two years ago she started vomiting a lot and she lost 1/4 of her body weight. Vet had us try rx wet food of various types of meat. Tried bland stuff like baby food, brown rice and shredded plain chicken. With every option, she either wouldn't eat enough or it would cause her to throw up. And that was with drugs to help with the nausea. This went on for a month plus. But at some point she found out where we were keeping this kitten food that we were giving our young cat, and she started sneaking it. It took a week for us to figure out how she was gaining weight while continuing to pick at the food we were giving her. So we kept monitoring her, and no vomiting. She's been on it for 2 years and is still maintaining her weight. Unfortunately our other cat is getting a pretty big back end staying on kitten food for so long, but our vet agrees that we should keep going with whatever is working, even if it was unexpected and not 100% ideal. Of course, this is just anecdotal, but just wanted to share our experience in case it helps someone else!

A healthy grain free kitten fod that my kitten likes (and which agrees with my kitten's digestion)
My kitten didn't initially like dry food very much (like most kitten owners I feed canned a couple times a day with dry for free grazing), so when I finally got her to eat Whole Earth Farms Grain Free Recipe Dry Cat Food, Kitten I was initially excited. Unfortunately, that particular food didn't agree with her ( giving her gas and absolutely vile smelling feces). since this food was similar but with better ingredients, I gave it a try, and was very pleased with the results. My kitten likes the food (better than the other one in fact), and it doesn't cause the digestive issues that the less expensive one did. Pros: -healthy -high protein and low carb -grain free -my kitten likes it -doesn't cause issues with digestion for my kitten Cons: -a bit expensive -Merrick is now owned by Purina -doesn't come in larger than 7lb bags ( which raises he cost a bit, since you can't buy bulk) -the velcro closure thingy on it doesn't work nearly as well as I'd like

My kitten has been eating this food for about 4 months now and absolutely loves it. No complaints here. Easy for him to digest and stools are not stinky.
