As previous buyers stated, the bottle top was not tightly screwed, allowing a negligible amount of salt to leak into the packaging. It took me some time to get used to "spooning" salt from a bottle. Yet, this is advantageous in providing a more precise measure for cooking.. The granules dissolve readily in hot liquids. I seem to use less than other sea salts I've purchased. The grain size is perfect for both cooking and seasoning foods at the table. I added some to a shaker for the table. The salt is white without any discolored granules. It is difficult to buy sea salt which is iodized and I will only buy such products. (I think salt is the main source of iodine-- an essential nutrient. ) The price of sea salt has gone up along with inflationary trends. It took me some time to find a reasonably priced iodized product. Especially since I use very little salt, I consider this a reasonble price for its size and quality.

This is a premium sea salt with iodine added -- not often the case with sea salts. Iodine was added to salt for a reason - to maintain healthy thyroid and avoid goiters, so I think it makes sense to make sure you get the little bit that is in salt. I like the subtle saltiness this adds without being offensive or harsh like some salts can be. Garden variety table salts can have extra ingredients like dextrose and prussiate of soda. Why get a salt with unnecessary extras that change the taste or the nutrition? Who needs prussiate of soda in their diet? No one, really and dextrose is another offender. The jar has a shaker top which works great and avoids over-dosing. When you taste this next to the standard cylindrical salt products, you will see why it is far more expensive -- I think it's too expensive for what it is and the small quantity, but it is imported and from a beautiful island. I found it at a local Italian import store for the same price. Despite the cost, I have already purchased a second jar. Treat yourself - since we cannot live without salt, you might as well try a good one!

I’ve been using this sea salt for about a year and truly enjoy it. I cook and bake old style daily and it adds the perfect taste. Nice and smooth with no gritty texture. A small amount goes a long way

On my second attempt, Amazon actually properly packaged my jar of salt so it didn't break nor did the seal/lid end up compromised. So I'm glad I strong armed a return of the first jar that was damaged by bad packaging by Amazon. As for the actual salt- this company is fantastic, and it's so wonderful to be able to have real sea salt that is also iodized, without other added nonsense. It comes with a convenient shaker lid that can be removed if needed, and bonus points for a glass jar. Not only way healthier than plastic, but also was healthier for the environment! (Plus you get to reuse the jar for whatever else) Love it!
