Will this protect me from the cold?

Not really designed for cold weather but would keep the wind off your neck. Mostly for sun and dust protection these days. Also heard not so good for a covid mask either.

How many does it come with?

There were 12 in the package I received. They are quite light and easy to overlook. They came with another item and I didn't see them at first; they were in the box headed to the recycle pile! I really like them. MY wife does as well. They give me full beard coverage even when doubled over.

Are they hemmed on both ends

These were a Christmas Present. I do not think they were hemmed. but my neighbor loves them
