Genuine DC40 Upright Vacuum Cleaner Change Over Valve Hose, Grey

Good price; seems to be OEM part. Fit just fine and brought the DC40 vacuum back to life. Took a bit of time to install and this vacuum design does not make it too easy but it was possible. Time will tell how long it lasts. Thank you.

Works great and serves as a cheap DIY fix on my Dyson Bally vacuum! It’s durable but yet sufficiently flexible, easy to install, and fits perfectly!

Perfect fit for the little hose that flips back and forth when you recline the vacuum back to do the floor. Mine had a pen get sucked into it and my wife kept slamming it till it finally poked through the hose but the vacuum would stand up locked in the upright position. It was a little difficult to install but not too bad. This repair will require someone that knows a little bit about fixing things and being able to put everything back together again lol. This is not something that a beginner would want to install because you will get it apart and probably end up throwing it in the trash before you can get the little hose in properly and not break anything. So if you have a buddy this might be a good one to use that help favor owed but honestly you probably already owe that guy

This fit perfectly. At first the change over was not sealing well every time, but I found that I had over-tighted the screws a bit. After an adjustment, the vacuum was working perfectly!

It works perfectly. Be sure to watch some videos and keep track of which screw goes where. There are a bunch of fiddley steps but on-line videos made the disassembly and reassembly fairly easy. You can fix almost any Dyson with a little help from youtube.

I erred and ordered the wrong part, I have a DC41 not DC40. However this is a good part for the DC40 vacuum.

I picked up a Dyson that someone was tossing out, wrapped in that ugly grey duct tape because they were tired of finicking with it. Funny coincidence—I ordered the wrong part at first, but it turned out to be a win because my vacuum actually needed both hoses inside the ball. Both the DC40 and DC41 use the same hose, so this works for either model. This hose was a little more difficult to install than the red one, so I followed a YouTube video that guided me step by step. If you’re not technically inclined, I’d recommend doing both hoses at the same time—it makes the process smoother. Once installed, the fit is exact, suction is back to full strength, and it feels great giving a second life to something that was headed for the trash.

Fit perfectly, install was easy enough.

Ordered on 12th Feb and received today here in sunny Singapore, so proceeded to change it out . Once a few torx screws and clip come out you can replace this easily. 10 year old Dyson DC40 Animal did it's job perfectly as I vacuumed the house today. Wife is happy that the floor and carpet is clean after nearly 1 week. Happy wife, happy life.
