For a lot of grating jobs (zucchini and cabbage, for example), I like to lay the grater on its side because it makes it easier to control the item you're grating (because you're working with gravity rather than against it, I guess, not sure why, it's just easier, to me at least). I tore up my last box grater doing that because eventually the handle came loose. I'm pretty sure that's not going to happen to this one. It's solid and well-made.Some people say it's not sharp enough. Seems sharp enough to me. I grated some turnips fresh out of the garden and it worked fine with hardly any pressure.A great buy on an essential and versatile kitchen item.

Simple, easily washed and the rubber footing keeps it from slipping.

Everything about this grater is great (grate!) with one exception. It's Easy to grip and hold. Grating is pretty much effortless. The grippy base is a tremendous asset over the old-fashioned models.My one qualm is that the title suggests this is a heavy duty "Commercial" quality grater...It's nice, but in no way would i consider this of "Commercial" level. The stainless steel used is fairly thin and I doubt it would take much rough and regular abuse before bending out of shape. But for the home kitchen and occasional to moderate use it will do the job admirably.

Having had a stroke, my left hand is somewhat debilitated. But I can hold this grater easily and it doesn't slip around, even when I'm using my right hand to grate carrots or ginger.

You know life has slowed down when you get excited to have a new grater.This Amazon Commercial version replaced one that was 30+ years old and cut more fingers than it did food. What a great upgrade! This is sturdy, shiny, and effective.

This is a very well built grater and works as expected, but it is large, my wife has a hard time holding it and pushing a block of cheese across it, it creates very coarse shredded cheese.

Praktisch genau so eine Reibe / Raspel hatte schon meine Oma in Ihrer Küche zu stehen gehabt und diese hier funktioniert auch genau so gut. Ich habe damit ohne Mühe Möhren, Gurken und Äpfel gerieben und geraspelt. Die Reibe ist stabil und scharf, und ich meine wirklich scharf. Die Gummilippe am Boden kann man übrigens problemlos abnehmen und wieder fest anbringen. Pleasantly surprised by this Amazon basics grater, very sturdy, very sharp, works well and washes in the dishwasher with no signs of rusting or damage to the grater or the rubber base. Really good value for money item, highly recommended.
