Faithfully Religionless: A memoir about letting go of the need to know Review: Absolutely love this book!!! - Everyone should have this book in their collection. I love the inspiration I get from reading the short chapters. Whenever I feel like I'm getting mad, frustrated, jealous, or whatever... I just open to a chapter that deals with that and it instantly puts things into perspective. Timber Hawkeye has a great way of wording things and the chapters are clear, concise, and extremely useful in my life. Get this book! I've bought several copies and handed them to friends and family. In fact, whenever a friend or family member seems to be struggling with life events, I will often turn to a chapter and take a snapshot of the passage on my phone and send it to them in a text message. It's written in simple terms everyone can relate to. A definite keeper!!!! Review: Must have for everyone! - Timber Haweye has written an amazingly beautiful book! He put all my wonders and questions about "religion" in a book and I feel so much at peace for what is in my heart now. I have shared this book with several people now! The latest was my dad, who saw the book on my counter and said hey what's this? I said read it, you will love it! So he started...and didn't put it down till he had read the whole thing(which was the same day.). He continued to refer to what he had read all day and for days to come! This makes me happy to see someone get as excited as I am about what is in this great book! I just finished ordering two more books just now, one for my dad and one for a dear friend who I know will LOVE it also! I believe everyone needs to read this book! No matter what your beliefs or "religion." I also have now gotten this book into our local library system! I couldn't believe we didn't have it already, so I put in a request for the library to purchase it and add it to our collection...and THEY DID! Now others can soon be able to read this book also! I am ever so grateful to Timber Hawkeye for bringing this and Buddhist Bookcamp to so many people! What a inspiration these books are to us all! You will not regret adding this book to your own personal library! I will have mine out as a coffee table book for all to see and wonder...hmmm, what is that book about! Make sure to get yours today!

A Barbie doll on top of the tree
I first learned of Timber Hawkeye's first book, Buddhist Bootcamp around 2014, and loved the writing style, the shorter stories that I could read and re-read, think about, reflect on. When I learned that he was writing a new book, I was very excited. Though it is a shorter book, I really enjoy the parts of his life that he has shared, and have found similarities in my own life. I guess I'm not so alone after all. I've really enjoyed his story, and the idea of being 'faithfully religionless' and have shared it with everyone I know, in addition to re-reading it many times. Just after the first time I read this book, we had just moved, again, and it was the winter holiday time. We were putting up the Christmas tree and I discovered that we didn't have a tree topper. I recalled the opening to this book, with Timber's first experience with Christmas trees, and that the family put what looked like a Barbie doll on top of the tree. It seemed like the perfect fit, and since then we have graced the top of the tree each year with a Barbie doll. IT's become so much of a tradition over the years, and I've shared the story so many times, I think I've come to see Timber as a member of our family. Though short, this is a wonderful book full of messages for the reader to think of and consider. While there are so many books available that talk about 'mindfulness' and 'minimal living', I think in this book you can see a reflection of what that can look like, and how it can work in your life, and that you can make your life more of what you want it to be, rather than what others tell you that you want from your life.

Must read for fans of Buddhist Boot Camp
I am a huge fan of Buddhist Boot Camp. And for all fans..."Faithfully Religionless" will not disappoint. This book is a bit more personal in regards to Timber's life experience and upbringing. I find the boot camp and Timber are one of my tribe. In a world where organized religion can feel confining, condemning, and oppressive- I found it difficult to continue to subscribe to. However, a deep spiritual need for community has never left me. Timber's sentiments are often all the "truths" I have felt all along, without a way to articulate them. This book resonates with me as a woman who left the "church" years ago, but never lost my quest for "God", love, and deeper meaning. Those seeking kinship of this kind...will find a fellow seeker in this book. Timber is simply "one of us" in the quest of "what it all means", he is not preachy in the slightest, he is wildly optimistic and very honest. Any person of faith or those who do not particularly want to identify with any such thing as "faith" ...will all find benefit in this book.

Beautiful story
If you want to feel connected to everything and everyone without judgement this is the book for you. Of course it challenges old ideas about God and religion : peace and love coupled with kindness is the message I got. Really good read.

Loving it as much as Buddhist Boot Camp
I'm enjoying this second book as much as the first, Buddhist Boot Camp, which I loved. I have read Buddhist Boot Camp probably three or four times over the years and I imagine I'll read this more than once as well. It is insightful and comes from a place of authenticity and non judgment. I admire that Timber invites the reader to ponder the material and agree or not, take it or leave it. I think at some point we all choose which path is correct for us and for our place in our personal journey. We are all students and we are all teachers. I think this book points that out in many of the life events Timber describes and the way in which he has chosen to respond to them. Great book. Thank you.

I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to reading it a second time. I agreed with a lot of what Timber said and enjoyed how he relayed his story and life lessons.

I have only just started looking into Buddhism and some of the books I have looked at have been a bit full on, bombarding you with full history on every page, breaking down the seemingly hundreds of mantras that will help you become enlightened, word by word... I suffer from depression and quite frankly those sort of books don't help me if I have to sit and work out what the heck they are talking about first. This is basic, highlighting the important things rather than blinding you with facts. It's Timber's story, he basically says this is what I did and looking at this situation in this way helped me. It is not a how-to book, more of an informal introduction into the ideas. That doesn't mean it's not helpful though, I read it & immediately passed it onto my brother who suffers with alcoholism before he went into rehab, as I am sure read with a clear head this could be helpful to him too. I'm going to get another copy & get my 12 year old to read it as well. It's under 200 pages so quick to read and although it won't tell you how to meditate, for example, it does tell you how certain practices are beneficial. Some may describe it as stating the obvious, but if you suffer from depression sometimes the obvious is just the opposite! I found it easy to read & helpful, it certainly gets you thinking and makes me want to dive into more books on the subject.

Love Timber, he is so honest in his writing. He is truly a light, in a time when so many only hear and see only darkness. There is a lot of food for thought in such a small book. Well worth the short time it takes to read.
