Especially in our American culture, we fool ourselves into thinking we know what sacrifice, devotion, loving God, evangelism, and discipleship are.But when you hear from missionaries who are daily giving it all to follow the call God has given them, you realize how selfish, spiteful, comfortable, arrogant, and impudent our western mindset really is.And then, each day you have the opportunity to pray for a specific people group that is virtually unreached in East Africa. You learn a bit about them, how to pray, & even get useful ways to remember them in everyday life.I'm grateful that this isn't just a book of letters, but that you have a place to write your own thoughts and responses to what you read each day. This is where, through some thoughtfulness & prayer, you can journal out what that days reading has meant to you as well as what you feel God calling you to do in application of the principles you've read.We ordered these books for our missions trip team consisting of youth and young adults who are going to El Salvador this summer.
