Excellent running shoes!!
I love these shoes, really stable on any terrain. Super light, breathable and fits perfectly. There's loads of positive reviews out there too where people go ultramarathon running, which is why I got them, and they've been true to their reputation. Even managed to shave off a few minutes off my 10 km personal best, which made me even more happy with this! Shipping was fast and reasonable too. Overall made me a happy runner!

So far so good
I previously did most of my trail running in the trailroc 245, but needed something a little beefier for the Grindstone 100.I have about 20 miles on the shoes and the extra cushioning is noticeable. I feel like the shoe requires some change in my foot fall tendencies due to the slightly more elevated heal to toe drop and the ball of my foot also feels a little loose, even with the "runner's tie"If this shoe holds up like the 245, I should get 400+ miles on hard rocky trail before the rock plate gives out and I expect to have a better feel for this shoe a few miles into Grindstone. I would recommend, but caution that it does fit a little different than the 245 and may not drain water as quickly.Unfortunately, this shoe did not hold up well. After a 100 mile trail race, I felt that this shoe may be ok, but following a 45 mile AT hike, the rubber outer-sole began separating from the inner shoe foot bed. This caused a "bubbling" of the rubber on my right foot and the frontal lugs began pushing through the insoles. I sent these shoes back as defective as the wear is no where near comparable to how my 245's held up at the 150 mile mark. I will buy Inov-8 again, but just may stick to the 245's for the next purchase.

Slippery on wet surfaces, US sizing is off, good laces.
Let's start with the Good. The laces on these shoes are truley amazing and stay tied all day with just a single knot. These shoes are indeed slightly wider than typical running shoes but it's more of a muffin top experience (thanks to the compliant and stretchy fabric) than a great wide shoe experience due to the sole that's too nasrrow for a EE foot. I also found the US sizing to be way off, the size 10 US is more like a small 9.5 and definitely not a 10. The most serious problem with these shoes is that the rubber compound slips on wet surfaces. I even found these to be slippery on wet textured concrete. There's no way I would use these on a wet trail with logs, rocks and other hard surfaces. However, these do make good shoes for a carpeted office. Oh, and there's no arch support wich is probably fine for some people but I developed a serious problem with my foot that will take many months to properly heal because of inadequate arch support. If you need arch support make sure you get some quality inserts and use them from the very beginning with these shoes.

Fits great! I just threw away my old pair of ...
Fits great! I just threw away my old pair of Terra fly 305's, which tore at the toe box almost immediately after heavy use. These shoes seem to have extra material all the way around to avoid that issue that most inov-8s have. Way to listen to the consumer. So far have a weeks worth of really hard crossfit WOD's in these and they staying strong and feel great!

So I went 1/2 size up as recommended. It fits like a dream
I read reviews and I'm a normal size 9.5D. So I went 1/2 size up as recommended. It fits like a dream. Did my first 5k trail run in dirt, mud, rain, and onto pavement. Trailroc 255 get's a big slippery on wet rocks. But a lot of traction in anything textured. Stay away from shiny ground. Overall I'm a very happy customer and looking forward to my first 10k Trail run event.

Haven't put them to the full test yet
I have difficulty finding a light trail running shoe because my feet are almost a full size different. With a thin sock these shoes work really well but they run a little small with a regular sock on my larger foot. Overall though, I have been pleased with the 3-4 mile trail runs I have used them for. I bought them for Spartan Races so we'll see how they work on my next one!

The Goldilocks Trail Runner
Great light trail shoe if your foot is on the slightly narrow side and you don't require any special pronation control. I was wearing Salomons before but found them too heavy. Lugs are good for trail, light mud and loose areas on hills as well as handling short bits of asphalt. I use the Roclites when I know I'm going to be off the beaten path the entire time.

Zero break in period
These shoes are comfortable and need little to no break in. They fit well however if you have a slim foot the bottom holes for the laces have a slight bulge the press into the top of your foot. Overall very satisfied with the shoe.

Great!
These are my first proper running shoe and I can say I am very impressed. They are very lightweight, breathable and have sufficient grip both for trail and tarmac. I was a little apprehensive to whether they would work well on tarmac but so far so good, although i haven't ran on wet tarmac yet.Only negative thing i can say is they are a lot of money for what you actually get but i guess these will last (i hope) for quite a while compared to cheaper brands (karrimor etc). One last thing...I got the size i usually get in any other shoe, if i went a size up like some say they would of been far too big!

The laces felt like they would not last long
Despite initial description of trail shoe with 6mm drop, offing padding for the sole of the foot and multiple technology for external grip, I found the shoe lacking in all departments.Given, the shoe is roomy. With normal size 13 shoes for me can often feel restricted, However, this shoe has ample room, possibly too much room. Even with thick socks I found heel slip. It fits large so definitely try in the shop first. The 6mm drop and sole padding felt very minimal and compared to other 6mm shoes, jarring on anything but soft ground. The sole felt flat and unresponsive and difficult to drive off the mid foot or toes. The laces felt like they would not last long. The grip was also minimal despite the lugs.Overall it is OK for shorter training runs on soft to good ground, but anything else (muddy, hard or racing) it struggles.
