I purchased as a gift and was concerned that the package would come damaged, or the map on the globe would be messed up. I gave it 4 stars because there are a few areas where the lines don't match up so perfectly that you cannot see the break, but it certainly is acceptable. It was hard to find one bigger than the average 12" size plus a full meridian swing without breaking the bank. The mountains are raised and everything is labeled so detailed -- almost to the point you can't see the lands beneath! I wish the oceans showed the topography and it seems a bit top heavy on my table (it has a hole in the base to screw it down). My kids are fascinated with it.
