While these are expensive (3x the cost of many alternatives) the color rendering on these are fantastic. These are also the only brand of LEDs that I've used that are completely silent/quiet at all dimmer setting--no buzz or hum is in any way audible, even with you ear right up to the unit. Nor do they flicker. The protruding fixture and diffuser type, rather than being recessed, seems to reduce the glare and spread the light more broadly--more of a flood light and less of a spot light (though the light is primarily downward). For instance, these are in a kitchen (retrofit to 4" cans) with a low ceiling. Other LED units leave little light to see into the top of the kitchen cabinets near the ceiling. These distribute just enough light to not leave those area dark.I also used these to add lights to the bottom of a beam on a cathedral ceiling with an adjacent loft. The lights on the bottom of the beam are at eye level from an adjacent loft, yet are not glaring to look straight at.Note that these also fit into 4" recessed fixtures and several sizes up past 6" by attaching the supplied attachment spring-wires in the labeled locations. I hadn't initially bought them for that, but re-purposed the first set I bought when I found that they would work there.

Extremely bright fixture. Can easily replace 100-120W incandescent light. The beam angle is a bit broad for a downlight, however (seems > 100 degrees) so adjacent vertical walls will be illuminated, which may or may not be desirable for your application. When mounting to an existing ceiling junction box, the non-adjustable mounting clips are a bit wonky making it very difficult to avoid a 1/8" gap around the trim. If you are mounting to an existing recessed can, the mounting clips can be avoided and I suspect that this won't be a problem. The product would be better engineered if the lens was removable, which would allow access (and adjustability) to junction box screws.

I have been looking for a year for the perfect led replacement light to go in our downstairs bathroom. We have a shallow odd sized can and this was finally the one that worked. I used the adjustable hooks instead of the j-box adapter for my recessed can and it worked perfectly.

My professional (so expensive it should be a crime) electrician installed all new Nicor fixtures in my remodeled kitchen and baths. After seeing what he used I ordered my own fixtures online to save money. I've been using them over a year now and love them.

Light kooks good, however very difficult to install in an existing standard round ceiling box. Needs to be installed in a recessed can, that was simple.

Good light, easy installation. This is an excellent way to add LED lighting in older homes. It can be installed inside and over standard ceiling light box. It does not require a light can.

I bought and easily installed this light. It's a little brighter than other comparable recessed lights. However, with the high CRI, it gives great light.
