Better than minwax helmsman
I have been using minwax helmsman for years (I have a 1979 aquasport ) it doesn't have a lot of wood but cabin doors are teak some oak trim couple storage compartments dashboard ect. Durability ,great finish, less coats ,just a better product all around

My front door looks a dream!
This product went over my newly stained fiberglass door smoothly. It was easy to apply and left the high gloss finish I wanted. It has uv protection built in and I'm hoping it holds up better than past products I've used. I'll know for sure after this winter passes. This door's stain flakes around the edges when exposed to the harsh winter sun...still holding out for a portico from my handy hubby, ๐ I haven't any complaints since it appears to do what it says it will do.

Itโs a very good product at a good price , with great results.
Easy to work with , I cut it 3 parts spar varnish to 1 part paint thinner . Three coats went on easy and thin, drying time between coats about 24 hours it seems very durable and of good quality.Cutting it down with thinner really helps and product is not as sticky. Used 00004 fine steel wool and tack cloth between coats. Be patient ,take your time and all will go smoothly.

Best poly products
I only use Varathane poly for floors, furniture, and outside wood. I used this spar on an exterior fiberglass door and it came out beautiful over the Varathane gel stain. Keep in mind the gel stain takes a long time to dry, especially in cold weather. The door has no protection from the morning sun and this really sealed the stain and protected it from the elements. It is an oil and you have to know how to work with oil but it self levels and spreads great. Thanks, Rustoleum, for not watering down these great products and keeping them available.

Different Color
When dried it tends to give a little bit of a brown tint to any colors. I used this to seal my canoe paddle that I had hand painted. Other than that, works great for sealing and making things water proof.

Excellent Finish - awesome product
Like with any wood project finesse is keythe first coat WILL need a light sand to address imperfectionsthe second coat WILL need a lighter sand to address imperfectionsthe third coat WLL NEED even a lighter sand to address imperfections - lolthe depending on what you are using this for the final coat will be smooth and amazing.I did 8 coats in total as it was going on an exterior item. By the time my last coat went on it looked like water while it was drying until it got to the satin finish.Great Product!!

Great product. Easy to spread and dries quick and hard
I was nervous about shipping a can with a pop-top in the mail. It came with locks on the lid to keep it in place. The can had just one small dent in it. Nothing spilled. The product itself is wonderful to use. I'm used to polyurethanes but this is a bit thinner and dries tougher than I'm used to. I got a great smooth finish after two heavy coats, a light wet sand and a single finish coat.

Lasts about a year
This is great for outdoor patio furniture but it doesn't last long. It needs to be redone every year. I wish it was as durable as high traffic floor varnish but it is not. Still worth it.
