These fit in existing holes on the frame at the motor mounts, all you have to do is remove screws, put these on and put the screws back in. They provide protection and a place to grab since the body is floppy on the sides. I only take the truck on hikes with me - I'm not doing any bashing - so I can't say how these would hold up to that, but they are sturdy welded metal and nicely made.
