A superb guide for developing teaching!
This is my favourite education book of the year so far. It's everything I want from a book for teachers: practical, research informed, concise, easy to read and packed with suggestions for further reading. If anyone knows professional development, it's Peps McCrea. I loved the other 3 books in the series; and this is just as good as the others - which is about the best praise I could give any book!Because it only takes about an hour to read, from front to back, I've read this book through several times already and I'm sure I'll pick it up many more times too!If you're looking to develop your own practice, or supporting others with theirs, then add this to your basket or wish list.

BUY THIS BOOK!
A must read for all SLT - a superbly engaging mix of research/evidence and practical application. Get your whole SLT thinking and talking about the thing that will actually made a difference in your schools. This isn’t a long read - I don’t think you’ll find another book out there that you can get so much out of in the relatively short amount of time it takes to read it - and we’re all super busy, right? I’m about to order ALL of Pep’s other books.

Practical guide for improving professional learning
Anyone working in education is highly likely to be very busy, so the fact that this book can be read in an hour or two is a huge bonus. Don't let the size put you off - it's highly concentrated. Peps Mccrea has an amazing ability at putting ideas across very succinctly.Anyone with an interest in teacher professional development (all teachers?) should be given a couple of hours off timetable to read this and use the ideas to take more control of their professional learning. Those involved in planning professional learning for schools will gain great insights into how to ensure that professional learning of staff has a real impact. In my opinion, we need to take professional learning of teachers more seriously if we want to see improvements in outcomes for pupils. This means ensuring that time for professional learning is used wisely. The framework described in this book will do help ensure this happens.

Insightful, top tips, brilliant read!
In my setting we are going for stage two of the re accreditation for ITT and I’m looking at strategies to train mentors to be effective as coaches. Too much woolly reflection going on at the moment. So I’m adapting much of what you say in the book. It’s brilliant. Also a short read which is so insightful of you when speaking to busy people. Highly recommended.

Highly recommend for anyone involved in designing and developing professional development.
I can highly recommend this for anyone involved in designing and developing professional development. This latest book by Peps, ‘Developing Expert Teaching’, identifies 6 key ingredients: ‘get it, see it, try it, keep it, fit it, own it.’ Fantastic, succinct and thought provoking - a very easy read with clear summaries of key points for each chapter.

Perfect Read
I am an Assistant Headteacher with a focus of Teaching and Learning and Teacher Development. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book whilst reflecting on the CPD delivery this year and how I can develop it for the next academic year.I have used the key ingredients from this book as a training toolkit for our Middle Leaders as we delve into next year's subject planning and development sessions.

Could be summed up on a side of A4
I think great book for leaders and heads. Not a book worth reading for a us bog standard teachers. Very dry and not really inspiring. Better if we could have a short video from the person himself.
