This Should do the Job Quite Nicely
I so look forward to loving this little thing. I just did a test run this morning using only the double-bowl tray, so it wasn’t a large amount of food. I think I let it run about fifteen minutes before checking on it. Wow. That food was hot! It was so hot I had to let it cool a few minutes. But it sure seems like this will be handy for work. I decided on this particular brand/model because: 1. The two dishes have plastic covers. I can leave the heating unit at work, pack lunch at home and carry it In separately from the heating unit. I don’t have to use or wash more dishes than necessary. 2. It has the highest wattage of all I looked at. It should heat faster and perhaps last longer than others. I really like that it is a neutral color. It doesn’t look like a child's toy. Since these things are surprisingly small, having a more grown-up look to it is appreciated. The handle is sort of a pleather, meaning it shouldn’t cut into my fingers like a hard plastic might. The locks seems sturdy enough. At least I hope they are sturdy. I’m sure it’ll steam well enough if the latch does break, though. A few things to note: 1. The cord is very short. You’ll need to be right by an outlet or extension cord. It also is not polarized. 2. The small plastic cup provided for water is inadequate. It holds at most, 50ml of water. In the Q&A section here - but nowhere in the instruction pamphlet - the company spokesperson states 150-200ml (approximately half cup in the U.S.) of water is required. So, just be aware of that. The instructions say it will shut off if the receptacle runs out of water. 3. I wonder if this will develop a mildew issue if inside the unit isn’t dried after each use. I just steamed a couple eggs (in the shells) in this. I cooked one for 10 minutes and another for 15. 10 was too short; I don’t have a proper egg cup, so it was too messy to eat the entire egg. 15 was either a minute too long or too short, depending on how you like your eggs. It was just a smidge away from totally hard cooked. But it was awesome and warm. Totally doable for a warm egg at work. And pro tip, the stem vents from the corner of the lid. I burned myself because I wasn’t paying attention. I’ll update if necessary, but so far, I’m happy with this purchase.

Smart Choice for low effort apple sauce, rice, solo and couple meals
Love this steamer. I have bought two at this point. The first one lasted just over a year, because we took it on travel. I don't know if it was United airline did something with it with checked bags, but it didn't work when we got home so I reordered another one and we are going 2 years strong on it using it every week. Would recommend! So easy to use, I send it to work with husband to make his lunch with and kiddo's use it to meal prep their lunches at home.

The little electric lunch box that could - heat up and cook
As I work a hybrid schedule -at least once a week I have to go to the office and work at home the other days, I was looking for something to heat my food for lunch. My office space does not have a microwave - so it’s either order/take out or sandwiches whenever I have to go to the office. This is the 2nd electrical lunch box I purchased - the first one was from a different company and different model. I ultimately returned that first one since it didn’t work upon my first use. I ordered this one and tested it at home first (to make sure it worked before taking it to the office). I heated up leftovers (rice and ground turkey) and opted to test out the top tier and placed a raw egg which boiled to perfection. I’ve used it in my office space at work twice - once for leftover chicken parm and the 2nd to heat up rice, pork tenderloin, and green beans. It has worked magnificently!! My food is piping hot (just the way I like it). It takes approximately 30 mins to fully heat up — I add the water to the level indicated on the heating element portion and set it.. each time it’s been 30 mins for it to shut off (which is when the water runs out) and the food has been HOT!! The containers are deceptive looking - I surely thought it would not enough food for me. But it fits the amount I generally eat. I use the top tier containers for snacks like fruits. As my office space has refrigerators I simply place my containers in the fridge once I get to the office and remove when I’m ready to eat/heat up my food. It’s relatively quiet and while it does produce water from the steam being released it’s not a huge mess - I simply put a few napkins on the side the steaming hole is located and whatever water falls is collected and easy clean up. I dropped it a star from 5 to 4 for simple and perhaps trivial reasons for some: 1- no carrying bag which would be useful and beneficial to carry the cord and your utensils/silverware. And if you need to or want to carry an additional container (outside the lunchbox) for extra snacks or food that doesn’t need to be heated - the carrying bag would be of great use! I simply use a small gift bag and place my cord and utensils in it. 2- if you want to use this to heat up food as you drive (some people are on the move or only have their cars/trucks as options to heat up the food) then look for another option unless you have a converter of some sort in your vehicle. It doesn’t apply to me but I can see how others dependent on a vehicle for the purpose to plug in and heat up the food would be a major drawback. Overall I’m quite happy with my purchase and love I can enjoy my leftovers and not have to spend $20- $30 each time I need to eat lunch when I’m at the office.

It will leak from the bottom
I bought this lunchbox for my husband to make his life easier for work lunches, and it has leaked in his book bag, depending on what the food was, and when it cooks, it leaks at the bottom when it’s turned on and cooking. It does not cook rice fully. It doesn’t matter the amount that you put in and my husband does not have enough time to re-cook the rice.

Perfect for cooking for one. I’m very pleased!
I just received my lunchbox today and I was excited to try the rice cooking features. I ended up spending half the day experimenting with different recipes that included noodles, rice, steamed vegetables and even a chicken teriyaki from a state of raw. So far everything I tried came out perfectly. The steamed vegetables were perfectly done without being soggy, the noodles cooked just right and so did the rice. The only down side I experienced was a little chip in the plastic lid of the container when I received it but it wasn't bad enough to send it back. I am looking forward to trying more recipes and I can see myself using this at school where I teach. A freshly cooked lunch is a good thing when there is not a lot of time. Even cooking from raw didn’t take more than 25 min as long as the meat was sliced. The basmati rice cooked in the same amount of time and came out lovely! If I were just reheating, it would take even less time. I am a very happy customer. Since I cook for one at home, I can see myself using this daily so I don’t make too much food. It is perfectly portioned for one! I hope they can send out another lid though. I will ask.

Too shallow
It’s a quick heating lunch box but that is due to the fact that it is shallow, which makes it difficult to remove after cooking and often causes spills. I didn’t use it often enough to realize how inconvenient it is and now I am past the return window. Had to buy a different one that is deeper and more of a bowl shape to save my fingers and on cleanup time.

It can cook as well
I initially, purchased it for warming up food but when I read the reviews and someone mentioned that they cook chicken breast and rice in it. So, I tried cooking chicken breast and veggies on the bottom tray with rice in the top tray. To my surprise, it cooked rice and chicken breast quite well. Veggies were a little oversteamed as compared to steamer but we like overcooked veggies taste better. We mostly use it for cooking one person's meal and it is working quite well for us. Next, I will try cooking in the car with a 200W.

Perfect for fresh cooked food with no hassle
This product has been great for me. Before this I was eating a lot of instant noodles at work. I wanted something hot and freshly cooked rather than reheating in the microwave and to get away from instant noodles everyday. The included instructions lack some detail but do have a basic chart to guide you on how to properly fill for what you are steaming. Making rice is possible, but if you already have a rice cooker at home I would use that instead. The rice gets a little soggy but in a pinch is still pretty good. My one gripe with this product is that the lids for the steel inserts really suck. They are hard to close and are not leak proof. Due to the fact that this product is a basic design that is licensed to different companies (you can even find other "brands" on Amazon that are identical) support doesn't really exist, and there is a serious lack of ability to purchase additional trays for food prep. I use mine for work and have access to a fridge, water, hot plate, and a microwave which allows my cooking to be much more versatile. Depending on your situation this may or may not be the right product for you.
