I think it's a good "intermediate robe" for night wear--not stiflingly hot, but keeps you from being cold. But it's also perfectly appropriate to wear to anything fancy: Dinner, a play, a garden party. It is see-through around the velvet design, but the pattern was busy enough to do the trick for my needs. I like peacocks and feathers. I'm fond of burnout velvet styles, and this has a lot of muted jewel-tones. It can pair with a lot of options, from gowns to rompers to dress pants.
