This pomade has helped me more than I had anticipated!****UPDATE****My hair is growing back—sooner than my oncologist said it was going to grow! Thank you!!!**********I normally have coarse, thick, and both wavy and curly hair; unfortunately, chemotherapy has left my skin and scalp uncomfortably dry and sensitive. I am using a cold cap, but I have bald spots that look like a drunk monk forgot his spectacles but tried to tonsure me. What hair I have left breaks easily and leaves clumps in my brush and my shower drain.My biggest problem is the nausea. I can handle citrus, light cucumber, mint, and light lavender scents. Other scents turn my stomach, which bums me out as a fragrance lover. I have to check the ingredients of anything I put on my skin or hair for parabens, phthalates, sulfates, some fragrances, and other mystery ingredients, any of which will give me a rash or hives.Unprocessed coconut oil has worked well for me, except that the macaroon cookie smell, which normally I love, makes my nausea unbearable. I have been using unscented extra virgin coconut oil, but I needed a portable pomade for my hair, which, what little I have left in my unfortunately bad short hair cut, sticks out every direction. I bought this pomade based on the reviews, and thought if it didn’t work, I’d give it to somebody in my family.In the week I have been using this pomade, my hair and skin have remarkably improved. The pomade calms my crazy hair and leaves it soft. It’s too early to tell whether my bald spots will fill in, but I have noticed fewer clumps in my brush and my drain, which means the pomade is helping prevent breakage. It has moisturized my scalp perfectly, and has not caused a rash or hives.Even better, because I use my fingers to massage it into my scalp, I’ve noticed a marked improvement in and around my nails. Chemo made my nails ridged and brittle and my cuticles dry, and gave me many hangnails. The pomade has had a wonderful moisturizing effect: it has made my nails less brittle and healthier looking, softened my cuticles well, and eliminated my hangnails.Best of all, the scent does not make me sick. It smells like a light cucumber men’s cologne, which does not trigger my nausea. The scent not only is light, but also does not linger.I highly recommend this pomade. It has proved to be much better than I expected.

For years, I only had 1 product that could tame or even properly moisturize my hair at all. It's such a toxic product that I knew I needed something else for longer term use... when I first tried this, I was mostly thinking it'd be a temporary fix until I could find what I'd use long-term. I thought the container was going to be so small that it wouldn't be something I could really use that long. Well, I got this and was blown away by how far it went. I even was able to rub it in to my full head of hair and it still lasted. I love the smell and it truly leaves the hair feeling so much healthier. Thank you all for this product! It really got me off my harsh-chemical products and that has relieved me so much!

This product smelled great and it was definitely of great quality. It helped in my journey for me to repair my edges. I would definitely recommend as part of your hair care routine when nurturing your scalp and stimulating the hair follicle for hair growth 10 out of 10 will definitely purchase again because I’ve definitely purchased again.

Based on its texture and consistency, this pomade is suitable as a sealant for hair types that are curly, coily, with fine to medium width hair strands, and that have medium porosity. It isn’t very durable though, in terms of use as an edge control even though my hair strands are medium width. It might be suitable as an edge control with medium hold for fine hair. It’s easy to apply and a little goes a long way. The moisture it imparts causes my hair to become very soft. When applied, it’s lightweight. At $9.99 for four ounces, It’s a good value for the money I spent.

After debating to myself about buying another pomade to help maintain my micro twist I decided to purchase the “Extra Dark Hair Food Pomade.” The scent reminds me of Cucumber melon. The consistency is like hair grease but thicker. The slip is perfect for type 4 hair. I normally use carols daughter mimosa pomade. However, it doesn’t hold my twist longer than 2 weeks. I prefer 3 or 4. So this pomade by Sunny Isle is great for my hair. I love how it leaves my hair super shiny, moisturizers, and HOLD MY TWIST. I highly recommend this pomade for twist, braids, locs, or even as a moisturizer. This now my hold grail.

When I first bought this product, I was skeptical at the time as my hair was coming out and I needed something that not only hydrate my hair but also my scalp. I remember my mom using Long Aid K-7 when I was a kid but could not find it. I did my research and read about how Jamaican Black Castor Oil being good for your hair…let me tell you this is soooo good. 🥰Not only does it hydrates, it actually does help your hair to grow. I usually use a couple of days after my hair is dry, putting it on hair and scalp leaving my hair even more soft and shiny. I will admit the smell can bit a little bit overwhelming but when you see how your hair looks and feels…you will be smiling too. I highly highly recommend this product to everyone that needs a boost to their hair as it will help tremendously!!Update: I had to reorder this because I lost the last one I bought. 😭😭😭 This product is amazing; it will do wonders for your hair and you will be so happy. This by far the best hair product I’ve used. The thickness is similar more to a butter. It melts easily (not like other products where I’ve had to vigorously rub in my hands before smooth application). The scent is light and very pleasant. I received this product closer to the end of September and I’ve already notice hair filling in and growing in parts of my head that were thinning (my crown and front hairline). I also use hair fibers and many other products and I’ve noticed I significantly use a lot less products to fill in thinning parts because my hair is growing. I’m ordering more now cause this is too good to be true lol!

Great hair product with natural ingredients. It's not as strong as a wax but still has good hold, and feels more gentle on my hair. It is oil based, so has a slightly glossy finish, but not overly so. And I like the lavender smell; it's not too feminine. Would be great if there was a mint-scented option.

Really great. Doesn't make my hair sticky or greasy. Not really strong hold but calms my fluffy hair. Looks and smells good.
