Perfect knife for kitchen work. Go for it!
Fantastic balance. It is a joy to handle this knife. It has an extremely sharp edge. You do not have to press. It passes through vegetables like butter! Its blade has the same thickness as a chef's knife (1.5 mm), but since the entire blade is wedge-shaped (tapered), it feels thinner. This is NOT a problem: In fact, such "full flat grinding is provided in many high-end Japanese Santoku knives! That said, the sharp edge is delicate. Use only wood/plastic chopping boards, and do NOT chop on stone/glass/steel chopping boards (or directly on the kitchen platform). Also, you must maintain its sharp edge regularly by honing it on a whetstone (easily available on Amazon). Do NOT use hand-held sharpeners! The only problem is that the cut food sticks to the sides of the blade because there is no sharp angle at the edge. (If the knife has a sharp V-shaped edge, the food falls off the blade. Santoku knives have dimples to prevent such sticking (which are ineffective anyway), but this one does not have dimples. The handle is sturdy with three rivets, and perfectly finished. The handle has a taper in front to allow the classic chef's pinch grip. This grip allows perfect control over your cutting and dicing. See photos for these details. Highly recommended!

Best Santoku knife for daily use
Kai Santoku knife is best for daily household kitchen work, its made of high grade stainless steel. Knife is well balanced and pretty sharp, handle is made up of polypropylene (plastic) which is comfortable to grip. Got in the best price of 390 with cashback. I have used several other brands in this price range, but Kai knife outshine everyone, it holds edge for long compared to those. Easy to sharp on wheatstone of 1000 grit. Overall a good choice you can go for it.

Too sharp and heavy to cut smoothly
Don't believe on negative reviews. Blade really feels heavy and too sharp. This chef knife really blows my mind with it's first impression. The blade really gives a feel of weightage. It really very sharp to cut any vegetables. I tried to cut onion and I didn't need to apply any extra pressure on blade, it's smoothly cuts the onion very smoothly. I got really surprised. It also looks premium and worth the price. I also recommend you to buy this knife.

Cuts onions like they are tomatoes.
A very sharp knife at a very reasonable price. It cuts onions like they are tomatoes. It makes life a lot easier when you start using this. I am not sure about the durability but it seems quite sturdy. The grip is good and the size is just appropriate. This is very useful as it reduces a lot of effort that goes in the preparation part of the cooking. I bought it at Rs. 389. Normally the knife is listed at around Rs. 440. My recommendation: If you are not looking for a heavy handle knife then you can easily go for this sharp knife.
