Cars coming from behind are very hard to even distinguish until they are just a few feet from you. It's just a washed out looking image (and I did experiment with all the available brightness/contrast/saturation/etc... adjustments). Bottom line, when I start to shift in the lane or turn, I can't trust just looking at the monitor. I have to turn and look over my shoulder anyway. So, when I bought this Feiske bike cam, I just knew, from my past failures, why it wasn't going to work for a variety of reasons. Boy, was I wrong!I just knew that the display would be too washed out in bright sunlight. Wrong! It has a nice crisp image even in direct sunlight.I just knew the wide angle lens wouldn't work because images of oncoming cars would remain too small until they are right on your tail. Wrong again. The camera image is so sharp, you something coming while it's still far down the road.I knew it wouldn't work because of the large battery and bunches of wires you had to connect to not only the camera but also the monitor. Wrong yet again! The monitor's internal battery feeds the camera with one easy to connect wire. It's the simplest of 'plug and play,' technology.And finally I knew it wouldn't work because I found it impossible to securely mount the monitor and the camera to the bike. They were sure to get out of alignment on any even the shortest of bike rides. Yes, wrong, wrong, wrong again. It didn't take five minutes for me to attach monitor and camera to the bike, connect the two, and be on my way.Now that I'm retired, I've been riding regularly for the past10+ years, and have to say I've entered a whole new wonderful phase of biking as I no longer have to worry about traffic coming up from behind. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very good quality and picture. To be removed and a protector installed soon. After two weeks I can say this works well in sunny and cloudy weather. Haven’t used it in rain or at night. I did have to remove the plastic protector on the camera to install on my seat mount. It would not fit otherwise. But other than that installation went smoothly. Picture is clear. Hard to see very far behind the trailer but I purchased this mainly so I could monitor my son on the trailer. Works really well on sunny days and so so for that purpose on cloudy days. But that is more related to the sun protection on my trailer that makes it harder to see. Seems like one charge should last at least 6 hours. Overall very happy with this purchase. Great value for the price. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice camera but don't get rid of your mirrors *by on Reviewed in the United States September 1, 2024* First let me say, this camera works great, was easy to install and a breeze to set up. The picture resolution is very good, the screen is large, the glare isn't too bad, even in bright sunlight and you can see the screen even if the sun is straight overhead. The field of view is very wide allowing you to see a large area surrounding the rear of your bike. Both the rear camera mount and the screen mount are adjustable to fit most any bar. I posted a video showing how they mount and also how the screen looks while riding. Keep in mind the video of the screen while riding shows a lot more glare than you actually will have. This is probably due to me filming with my Iphone which likely exaggerates the glare factor. The camera does not have recording capability.Now, on the negative side, I honestly wanted this camera to help me watch for and see traffic coming from behind but, alas, it does not accomplish that too well. The reason is, as most typical cameras do, it works like a convex mirror, objects appear far away. At distance, you cannot see what's back there, be it a car, truck, etc. Once the object gets within probably 40-50 yards, you will then be able to see what's back there. Now let me stress, the camera functions very well and I have no issues with anything about it other than what's mentioned above. Because of this, I deducted a star, giving it a 4 but really, just about any camera is going to perform this same way.I'll keep and use this camera because I do like that you can see a wider area directly behind you than you can with any mirrors. I like to watch the traffic right behind me that's following me to make sure of when they pass or to make sure they're not going to run me over. This camera accomplishes that well and another plus is, you don't have to keep looking at your mirrors, taking your gaze from looking straight ahead, you can just look down at the camera.Overall, this camera will add to your safety and comfort when riding. I would recommend not getting rid of your mirrors and relying on ANY camera as your sole means of watching what's behind you. Think of the camera as a supplement to your mirrors and giving you a broad view of the area immediately behind you.
