Needed to amplify a pair of JayBird Bluetooth headphones. I commute on a motorcycle and wear a helmet with JayBirds in my ear. Music source is an xmP3i so I'm trying to listen to satellite broadcasts (rock music, football, etc.) but the player has poor amplification as well as no Bluetooth (I bought a bluetooth adapter for the XM device then "pair" with my JayBirds)....long story short, you can't hear the audio after 30mph. Bought the Fiio e10 amplifier and it still doesn't amplify the XM source enough to hear on the motorcycle over the speed of 30mph. This "GEMTUNE" amp DOES amplify the sound well. I can now hear the XM broadcast with no problem however, the sound quality is poor (scratchy and distortion) if the amp is turned up/over 70% of max. Anything after that is too scratchy and distorted. This amplifier has a classic 9volt battery for power with two "thumb" operated screws for access to the battery compartment. The device came with a rechargeable 9volt battery AND a separate charger for this type of battery. Probably going to have to upgrade my XM player in order to get a reasonable output level for the source but, all of my home, car and boat are setup to run off the XmP3i device and home amplifier and car stereo level amplifiers power the XM device with good quality and volume.. Can't seem to find a battery/portable amplifier that will push the XM device to volumes that are desired.
