Just pull it down like any Umbrella. I like the umbrella. Unfortunately mine was fastened into my umbrella holder on my push golf cart when a large wind came up and broke the umbrella just above the handle.

When will this umbrella be able to ship globally via amazon or amazon.sg? i am in singapore.

Yes, in my opinion. I'm very satisfied with it.

How do you close the umbrella?

Just pull down on the slider that's attached to the shaft, until it clicks.
