J1772 EVSE Electric car Holster Plug Holder Dock with Cable Hook

This is an awesome product. I bought one for my mom who was just wrapping up her charger cable and leaving it on the porch. She loves being able to just pop her charger into this instead of on the porch when she goes somewhere with her Nissan Leaf. I bought one for myself a couple years back for my Chevy Volt, and it still works great. Installation is just a couple screws and when using it, the charger handle snaps into place with a nice click. The top has a little lip to help with provide a place you can wrap extra charge cord slack. If I had a second car charger, I would definitely buy again.

I mounted this to the side of my back door handrail post which is in the carport next to the charger cord. It fit perfectly and is great for keeping the small spiders and mud daubers out of the charge connectors pin holes so you don't end up with problems connecting with your car to charge. And the hooked top means you can loop the cable over the holder when not in use to keep it off the carport or garage floor (prevents tripping over the cable and keeps it clean). Great solution to the problem of "dangling EV charge cords" and with outstanding, easy to understand installation instructions, will result in a very clean and professional looking job when installed.

It is what it says and it works great. It is easy to mount on the wall and holds my charger reliably. The lip on top is great for wrapping the cord around as well. The box even provided a piece of paper with markings to use as a guide for drilling the holes when you mount it. Highly recommended to keep your garage organized and charger accessible! The reason I chose this over other options is that, while it was more expensive, it had the lip for holding the cord and the receptacle to hold the handle, whereas most other options are one or the other.

It was easy enough to install and works well. One of the reason I bought this was the holder nicely sloped down instead straight (this way the handle won't extend in my garage walk way when not in use) like the other ones available. Good quality product. Only thing is the collar that extends to hold wire is bit short. It could have been slightly bigger for easy storage of wire after use. I have taped the excess wire that I don't need to unwind this way it stays put!

Well designed and fairly robustly built holster, adding utility to your EV charger. I found it to be useful in spite of the slightly steep cost. I figured if I saved on the plug installation, in addition to over $100 by using the hard-wired instead of the plug-in version, then I can afford the extra few $$ for an easy to access holster. Hang it separately from your charger. The holster is mounted some 4 feet away from the charger - for ease of access and to keep the wire straight - avoiding entanglement. Actually, this holster insertion angel is more natural, than the steeply downward inclined design on my Siemens charger. Additionally, a nice personable note from the vendor was attached - indicating that the unit was made in the USA. Finally, including the mounting screws was an added bonus - nice touch. Thanks.

I have a garden hose holder to hold my 40-foot J1772 cable, but I found that just hanging the plug over the hose holder would allow water to get into it when raining. I just didn't think that was a good idea. So, I bought this holder and mounted it underneath the hose holder to hold the J1772 connector. Works great and everything stays dry. The plastic seems like it might be a bit brittle, but it has held up perfectly over many months, so I guess not.

Good idea, but not as easy to use daily. If you place it where it is easy to insert the charge cord, it sticks out, and easy to see from the street. I guess I will have to continue to search for a good place to install this holder. The holder is of good quality, and comes with a template to aid in drilling the mounting holes, and mounting screws.

This is a high quality injection molded piece that was designed thoughtfully. Many of the options on the market for a J1772 holster will orient the plug perpendicular to the wall. However, this one has the extra care to angle the plug downwards. This achieves two things I really appreciate - slimmer storage (to the point I could install it in the space between two studs) AND less fatigue on the cord (less bend angle). I do not use the cord wrap feature in it's current installation but might in the future - I expect it would hold at least 3-4 cord loops. By angling it down and having the cord wrap 'hood', you can tell it is harder to manufacture so I really appreciate the conscious design decision!

Perfect for tidily and securely stowing my 2016 model Nissan Leaf’s Type1 Socket charging cable. It’s well made and secures the cable’s socket by holding it locked in place via the cable’s latch mechanism. Arrived quickly and Was well packaged. A drilling template is provided for easily aligning the screw holes. Decent screws are also included. Keeps cable tidy and also keeps rain and dust out nicely.

Nothing too complicated here. It's made with high quality plastic, your charger cord wraps around it and you plug the charger itself into it when not in use. It's not cheap (nor is it a rip-off). The important thing is that it just works and it appears as though it's going to continue to work for as long as I need it. I can't imagine this thing breaking and dropping my charger on the ground and potentially damaging it too. Which is what you want isn't it? To keep your charger and cable tidy and safe. It's a nice bonus that it's made right there in Canada. That means it isn't shipped from over seas, which entails an exorbitant carbon footprint and is something we desperately need to get away from.

When I first got this, my thought was - well, looks OK, but really - $25 for like 85cents worth of ABS? But then I started using it, and the design of this thing is brilliant! Perfect fit, durable, weather-proof, very satisfying "click" when you hang up the J1772 charger on it. Here's what sealed the deal for me: There are four holes for mounting / screwing this to a wall. The seller could have included no screws (expected), or whatever the cheapest screws he could source were (also not unexpected), but instead, he included a set of four stainless steel screws. Won't corrode, won't rot-in-place in the wood, etc. Top-notch attention to detail. You bought a nice electric car - don't be foolish and try to save $5 or whatever on something to hold the power cord; go high-end right from the start and you'll be happy.

Very pleased. Amazon advised around 4 weeks for delivery but the item arrived incredibly fast, within days! It is really well made. Thick, robust plastic. Looks like it'll take a lot of wear which is great. I'll update this review once the holster has been installed and used!
