Awesome rod! Compacts small enough to take on my hiking trips for those opportunistic fishing streams I find, and it cast smooth. Also great for keeping in the truck in case you find that special honey hole at an old country farm! It’s lightweight but yet very durable and seems like it will last a while.

I bought this rod to fit on my Enduro motorcycle pack so I can go fishing while out riding. It collapses down nice and small and extends to a usable length. I paired it with a small Shimano reel that I had laying around. I rode out to a local reservoir and used the rod all day. Hauled in multiple 14" brook trout and many rainbows as well. Action is definitely moderate, if not a little bit on the slow end. But it fishes well, is sensitive and responsive, and has enough spine to fight fish in. Overall 5 out of 5. You only know if walmart sold these, they'd be asking 3x the price. Worth the buy!

I own several of these kast kings rods now. It makes it great for a kayak. You can also put in your bags and take on a flight it’s so small. Absolutely love them and will buy more. Too many fishing rods is no such thing.

Would be a 5 star but there's just some fit and finish flaws, for the price you can't beat it and I'd does just fine for its intended purpose, just like I said small fit and finish things that slightly bother me for it being brand new, love kastking products as a whole tho.

I didn’t know what to expect as this was the first extendable rod I ever purchased. I was pleasantly surprised when I received it as the Compass rod was well constructed and beautiful. It extends and retracts very easily and now I can take it with me wherever I go, so my fishing rod is always with me. Some say that the extendable rods are not as sensitive as a 1 or 2 piece rod, that may or may not be true; however, a sensitive rod is no good when it’s too long to carry with you. I look forward to many days of good fishing with this beautiful rod from Kastking.

Product seemed great coming out of the package until it snapped while I was stringing it. I repeat, I didn’t even have a hook on the line or fish and the tip broke. What a waste! It seems to be good construction, but even as I unboxed it I thought the tip looked flimsy. Amazon is supposedly returning it free of charge, hopefully the second one won’t snap on me so quickly. KastKing’s “compass” reel is great quality btw. I would definitely recommend that to others.

Exceeded my expectations of a telescopic rod. Quality is inline with what KastKing is producing. This is going to be a great edition to my pond hopper pack from KastKing for a travel rod. This also allows me to pack a backup rod in a bag rather than keeping a full or broken down rod in my yak. KastKing keeps making affordable products that I keep buying over and over.
