Good selection.
I have reviewed other Simone anthologies and this one is just as good. Honesty and passion sung like no other.Nina seems to have been permanently pissed off, as I have written, but that is what drives her songs along with her unequalled musicality and makes them so honest. To get a larger selection of her best songs you probably have to buy about 5 anthologies of best songs. For example there is one of her singing songs of the sixties. It has about 5 Dylan songs on it, although she has sung at least three others I know of on other cd collections. In addition their is notably Suzanne (Leonard Cohen)and Here Comes the Sun (George Harrison). And then there are some great favorites which are hard to find in the best versions, e.g. Who Knows Where the Time Goes (Sandy Denny).I discover new ones on YouTube all the time, e.g. The Turning Point, which is incredible but on few anthologies. The woman was prolific and produced an extremely varied and voluminous oevre.

Nina Simone --- a deeply sensitive singer of note
I have nothing but good to say about this CD and the woman who is the singer. Nina Simone, in my opinion, goes far beyond most singers in her deep sensitivity, understanding of the human heart and human courage, and, besides, she sings beautifully. I read somewhere that Nina Simone, singing the yellow pages, could make them magnificent. I wish I'd said that and I'd give credit to the person who said it, but don't know who that is. She has such talent, such depth, such ability to express emotions, and such a range! I treasure her voice and I have a winner in this CD.Purchased at Amazon

Different Kind of Singer But Great
The first time I heard of Nina Simone was when I saw a movie starring Bridget Fonda in which several of her songs were played. I liked what I heard and decided to buy this CD to get her best selections and I love it. She's a different kind of singer, but I have eclectic tastes and like most kinds of music. I love "Feeling Good", "I Want a Little Sugar in My Bowl", "Ain't Got No...I Got Life" and "I Put a Spell on You" especially. Yet all of the songs are great and are done in Nina's special style. She definitely had a gift for song and a way with a song that's unique. I am very happy with this purchase.

Nina Rocks!
If you appreciate Nina Simone's music or are curious about her style, this is the CD for you. Both the depth and breadth of her genius is explored and she delivers the goods. Her greattalent at singing the blues, gospel, rock etc. is incredible and her skill as a pianist, impressive. This album is bound to put you in a great mood. My only regret is that"Mississippi Goddamn" was not included.

Leave me begging for Simone
I just adore this artist. It is true that good things do not last forever. It is a great compilation of her works over the years. I do have my favorites, and I will always say that no on could ever sing, "I'm Feeling Good" & "I put a Spell on You" like she can.

Best of Nina
I wanted an album that would give me all of Nina's hits and this is pretty good. There are some songs that I don't care for at all but it is hard to get every title that I wanted on one album so this was my choice. Some seems like fill time but again, I got a lot of the great titles I was looking for. What a voice!
