Our family loves camping in the fall – warm enough to do fun stuff during the day, but cool at night so you can enjoy the campfire. In the morning, the grass is usually wet, so this blanket was perfect to be able to put down for the kiddos to sit/lay on. Before we used to put down a tarp, and then a blanket on top of that, but they never seem to stay together, and before you know it, both the blanket and the kids were wet. They love the fleece lining on the inside – so soft!!I was initially worried that the hood would stick out and look really stupid, but I was pleasantly surprised when I saw it has a pouch that the hood folds up into. I know in the picture it says “foldable hood”, but I didn’t know there would be a pouch for it to fold into, so you don’t even know it’s there unless you want to use it…and boy, am I glad it does! The last day it started raining, and we just decided to pull up camp, as it looked like it was going to rain most of the day. I ended up using this blanket as a raincoat while I took down the tent and put things back in the car. The two Velcro closures held the blanket around me well and allowed me to use my hands to get things done. They are up near the neck/chest, so my pants were not protected from the rain, but it kept me dry enough to be able to work through the rain. It is big enough to wrap around you, so if I was just sitting down (watching a sporting event, for example) instead of moving all over, I would have been able to stay completely dry.It comes with its own drawstring bag, and is easy to fit it back inside without having to squish it down or fold it in only one exact way.
