These pellet tubes will give me a good five hours of smoke. That’s enough to give a nice smoky flavor. Then, depending on what I’m cooking, I’ll wrap the smoked meat in foil and finish it up in my indoor oven at a low heat. These tubes are the easiest and most effective way I’ve found to smoke on my gas grill. Love apple wood blend pellets for smoking pork. Yum!

A: This holds about 1/4 lb of sawdust, so I would expect 18 hours of cold smoke

A: I use oak and cherry for salmon. My salmon is amazing quite frankly and always a hit at catered events. The process is more important than the wood.

A: You do not need to pack it, I pour it higher than the edges then using a ruler or something with a straight edge, screed it flat
