It is much sturdier than expected- but confusing to put together-- the two longer pieces- one with hook and one with nut-- go together because the short piece has a smooth top to slide thread on and goes in the middle--does NOT go thru to require a nut andlonger piece does NOT GO THRU BASE either-- thus my recommendation is to throw the nut away- then assembly makes sense- Mark took it apart and tried it every way- then assembled like the picture on the site. I am pleased- does not wobble, and works better than expected after reading the other reviews.

I was putting it together incorrectly. My husband helped me and it works great!! Don’t screw it down so far that it won’t stand up!! Love it thanks sturdy. I’m going to use it for my thread and for when I iron so cord doesn’t get caught up in my ironing!!

Will work great for either type of spool being used!

The metal rods fit extremely tight. Very heavy. I received a replacement when the rod extension screw broke off.

There are no instructions. Pieces fit so tight it is a bit difficult to assemble. Does the job so I am happy with it.

The YICBOR Single Thread Stand Full Metal Stable &Adjustable Thread Stand #27449M is a good purchase to go along with my sewing/embroidery machine.I made the mistake of purchasing 5000m spools of thread because they were cost effective. I first tried to 3d print something that didn't work out. I tried the cup method which sorta worked but was not reliable. I tried a couple other methods of guiding the thread from a massive spool to my machine and finally broke down and purchased this thread stand. I am very happy with the purchase.The thread stand has a heavy base. The metal rods holds the thread above my sewing machine, guiding it through the feeds.A disadvantage of the thread guide is that the base is cupped where the thread is placed. this cup can allow the thread to drop under the cone and jam up the thread feed.

I had a plastic bread stand previously. This one is metal it’s strong it’s solid and it works so much better.
