Easy to use, phenomenal results
One of the best tools in my arsenal to get a professional grade finish on drywall patches while managing the dust. Works excellent to catch and remove dust while hand sanding out those fire defects or small patches.

Best sanding tool EVAH! This beats things with holes in the sandpaper or mesh or skirt brushes.
Works better, especially for drywall, than anything else. Better than screen things, sandpaper with holes things, wet sanding. Great for drywall. Pair with a bucket cyclone dust catcher and a filter covering bag on a mondo vacuum cleaner and it is ALL GOOD. Obviously it is going to be for smaller jobs than a 9" power drywall sander, but I have both and this is usually what I use. Es-PEC-ially if you do a decent job on the joint compound, this is the bomb solution. Tempted to get a second one just because I love it.

It ACTUALLY works like a charm!
I’m shocked this works—it really, really works. Not a spot of dust on my floor (see pics!!) after sanding a rather thick application of mud. I’m a habitual DIYer but like so many, I’ve still not mastered the fine art of drywall mudding and taping.I was really skeptical. In fact, I already own another Hyde product that is much higher quality and works ok. This thing is as cheap as it gets, the hose has the quality of a disposable straw. And it’s short. I connected it to my other longer, better Hyde hose for added length and had to tape the input into my trusty old shop vac but wow, it caught nearly 100% of the dust and I had to really sand. I always mud way too thick. Nothing. No dust rimming my floor. Nothing coating my eye rows or hands or leaving a fine layer on my furniture. WOW.I have an extension hose on order. It’s totally worth it to buy an extra long hose and to resort to taping the inlet attachment on to my shop vac. (I also use a bag in my shop vac to save the motor from drywall dust). It’s all worth every. single. penny. I don’t have drywall dust wafting through my house, settling on my furniture and being sucked into my HVAC. That’s AMAZING.

Great for small jobs
I was surprised something so simple worked so well. This saved me a bunch of time and effort of cleanup for the handful of patch repairs I needed.

Clean Sanding, Messy Attachments
The HYDE 9160 Dust-Free Sponge Sander has brought a refreshing breeze to my DIY projects, aligning seamlessly with the common need for a cleaner sanding experience. The sponge design works wonders in reducing dust, sparing me from the inevitable cleanup marathon. However, the con lies in its multitude of attachments – it's a bit overwhelming. While the intentions are good, having too many attachments during sanding becomes a bit cumbersome, disrupting the flow of the task at hand. Despite the attachment overload, the HYDE 9160 remains a reliable companion for those prioritizing a dust-free sanding journey.

Fast delivery
This worked very good. I had a lot of sanding to do in occupied apartments. It saved me a days cleanup. I still use it occasionally when I have occupies to do. Its still works like it does when I bought it. Its worth every penny

Collects the vast majority of dust
I've been meaning to try one of these for years, I'm really impressed with how good it is at collecting dust. I'd guess it collects 95-99% of sanding dust, if you're patient with the sanding and only press lightly. I use a shop vac with a hepa filter and a fine particulate bag so no dust reenters the room I'm working on. As a landlord, I often would like to get projects done but choose not to because of dust in occupied apartments, this makes those jobs feasible. The photo shows the floor after sanding the wall with this on, before vacuuming anything up. The only drawback is that you can only sand to about 1/8" of a corner so you still need to touch up the corners without this on the sanding block but that's pretty simple.

Junk
I was really looking forward to this, then I was disappointed when I tried to use it.It is too small to fit any of the good quality sanding sponges I already have, you have to use the sponges supplied. It also doesn't work at sucking up the drywall dust while sanding, even from a light sanding on a small area, it collected around the edges of the yellow part and then all of that collected dust fell all over the place when I pulled my hand away from the wall. Junk.
