Uplifting children's story, great for girls
Zoey is a typical 4th grader struggling with a big move, a new school, and finding her place. You empathize with her during her first days in the cafeteria as she sits by herself and you feel uplifted as she starts to make friends. The story is written in vivid detail, and you move with Zoey through the first few weeks of her new life in the “Lou” with all the reminders of problems facing 4th grade girls. What stands out to me about this story is the supportive and loving family relationships and finally, girls in science! I’m over the moon that a science fair features prominently in the story with girls participating in it. Another win is the artwork on the physical book which shows a black character and there just aren’t enough diverse characters in fiction where children can see themselves or can see underrepresented characters. This book is a home run for late grade school through middle school students, especially those struggling to find their way or see themselves in stories. There is even a little something for parents when Zoey asks her friend what vinyl is in relation to music (we’ve all been there).I bought a few copies to share with children who can use a little Zoey. I'm hopeful the author will continue the stories of Zoey and her family. I'm ready for Zoey to go to science camp.

Wonderful journey of accomplishment, a can do spirit with a focus in STEM & the Arts!
This is a fantastic book that has a little something for everyone. While reading the book you begin to feel as if you stepped into the picture and can visualize everything as it happens. I love that the story revolves around a supportive family that love their daughters. The daughters are portrayed as capable, smart and creative, with girl power to the enth degree!!!! Yesssss and I mean enth, To the utmost, (This expression comes from mathematics, where to the nth means “to any required power” (n standing for any number).Exposure is everything, so I would advise that you buy this book for young ladies so they can see themselves in the book and know that they can be successful too! Dare I say, buy it for the young men so they can get comfortable with girl power and not be threaten by it. I must say as an adult, I read and reminisced about my early school experiences and remembered that I was young once too:)Go ahead and buy several to give to your family and friends, I did!!!Monica Black Robinson, M.A.

Great Book and very kind author
Our Junior Girl Scout troop purchased this book for each of our girls to read independently, have them write a letter to the author, and have a discussion with the author after reading. This helped our girls earn their Scribe Badge. We had several girls very excited about this book and can't wait for future books. It was very relatable with issues the girls are going through themselves with school and personal growth. As a mom, I loved how the author added in puberty situations a little bit to show our girls it's normal and okay and not to be embarrassed about it. I also loved the shout out to Girl Scouts in the book. Thank you Michael for sharing your story with the world and especially with our Girl Scouts!

great book , my daughter loved it!
my daughter asked to also write a review so the following is from her" I really loved your book. I really enjoyed the characters Zoey,, and Emily. I love Emily because it says in the story everything she wears is sparkly pink and my favorite color is pink. I like Zoey because she doesn’t care what other people think, she does what she wants. I also like her because she tries new things. I enjoyed your book because it tells about science.I liked your book so much and I can’t wait to finish reading Zoey Lyndon and the sticky finger bandit. I started it and it’s really good. "I personally (as her mom) also wanted to recommend this book, 6 stars if we could. It is a great story with characters my daughter loved. She is currently reading the next book by the same author (Sticky Finger Bandit) and is hoping there will be a third soon too!

A book 4th grade girls can identify with
I read this book with 14 girls in a Girl Scout Troop. They seemed to connect with the characters far more so than some "classic" books for the age group. The everyday conversations and interactions were realistic. I'm told that the comments about boys were reasonable too, except the girls do not approve of Olivia being too flirty and "boy-obsessed." I liked that the book opened up so many opportunities for conversation. We had a couple girls inspired to write their own stories after reading Zoey Lyndon's Big Move to the Lou. The excitement and interest from the girls was refreshing. I know many are planning to read the second book and looking forward to the release of the third in the series.

A fantastic book...especially for girls :)
Micheal Anderson’s book, “Zoey Lyndon’s Big Move to the Lou” is a great read. My 4th grade Girl Scout troop loved reading all about Zoey, her new friends, her love of science, and the day-to-day challenges 4th graders face as they grow up. Here’s what they had to say about the book: “We really loved the book. It was so funny! We couldn’t stop reading it once we started. The characters were fun to read about. Our favorite parts were when Zoey won the Science fair, when she met her new best friend Tommi, and when her dad cheated in the UNO game. The book really captured the life of a 4th grader, and we know because we’re in 4th grade! We can’t wait for the next book in the series. We really recommend this book!”Our troop was very fortunate because we not only got to read the book, we got to Zoom with the author! Micheal taught the girls all about the writing process and spent over 30 minutes answering their questions. It was so nice to see 9-year-old girls so excited about reading and writing. Thank you, Micheal, for a wonderful book and for inspiring our girls!
