follow the directions and be happy
this is a very nice product and it works just as it says it does. the wash part of the product in my opinion is great. it will probably handle a quantity of something for four people. I am single so it is fine for me. I have made French fries, baked potatoes, roasted potatoes, chicken legs, thighs and breast in an egg and bread crumb coating, two crusted apple pie and a cake. you do have to do some experimenting when you first start. I have had mine for 6 weeks now. this is what I basically use. pop corn does work but not that well, it leaves to many unfinished kernels. it fits very well on my counter top. but if you have a small counter there maybe a problem. you do have to be careful when handling the glass bottom when cleaning but when you use the wash system it is very easy to rinse out. I also find that the underneath is easier to keep clean using the wash system. use a damp cloth or paper towel and wipe off real good every time and it stay relatively clean. the clean up is not hard at all. be very careful when using frozen foods if one of the items like chicken happens to fall to the bottom when turning over it will cause the glass to crack. also make sure when you go to use the washing system that your glass has cooled off or when you fill it with about 2 inches of water you do it with hot water so the glass does not crack. if you operate this product right you should have no problems. the only con I have with this product is there are not any kind of parts available. you can pickup a ring, a halogen light bulb and racks ect. on ebay. other then the light bulb the others don't wear out unless you want extras. the thing I don't understand is how a company is allowed to put a product on the market without part backup??? the different excuses about the thing being heavy is semi true but you only basically handle one piece at a time, bowl or top and it is really no big deal. just use the product as designed no more no less and you will be happy. I WOULD LIKE TO GIVE AN UPDATE: FOR WHAT EVER REASON MY BOWL CRACKED. I CALLED THE 800 NUMBER. SPOKE TO A YOUNG LADY GIVING ALL MY INFO. WAS TOLD YOU WILL RECEIVE NEW BOWL FREE REPLACEMENT IN 2 WEEKS. TWO WEEKS PASSED SO I WAITED. THIS MORNING I RECEIVED MY FIRST NOTIFICATION SINCE I TALKED WITH THE PERSON. MY ORDER HAS BEEN SHIPPED AND THEY GAVE ME A FED EX NUMBER WHICH I CHECKED OUT IMMEDIATELY AND IT IS VALID. SO YOU CAN REACH A CUSTOMER SERVICE PERSON. IT WAS 3 DAYS PAST THE 2 WEEK MARK. FROM THE WEIGHT LISTED AT FED EX AND PACKAGE SIZE SOMETHING TELLS ME THEY ARE SENDING A WHOLE NEW UNIT. I STILL STAND BY THE UNIT. I HAVE COOKED AND BAKED WITH IT, NO PROBLEMS. BUT UNTIL MORE UP TO DATE RECIPES FOR THIS UNIT COME TO BE ON LINE YOU ARE GOING TO ENJOY EXPERIMENTING OR MAYBE NOT. LAST UPDATE SAT. 27TH I RECEIVED MY PACKAGE OF A COMPLETE UNIT. AS YOU KNOW I ASKED FOR A NEW GLASS BOWL. FOLKS YOU CAN'T DO ANY BETTER THAN THAT FOR MAKING GOOD ON THE PRODUCT. HERE IS ANOTHER UPDATE 11/9/2017, I AM STILL USING 2-4 TIMES A WEEK WITH A CRACKED BOWL WHICH HAS NOT FALLEN APART YET. I ALSO ADDED A COUPLE OF UTENSILE TO MAKE LIFE EASIER WILTON 10 X 2 PAN WHICH YOU CAN USE FOR BAKING BUT I PRIMARILY USE FOR CATCHING DRIPS FROM COOKING. JUST RINSE AND DRY PLUS WIPE OUT BOWL AND YOUR CLEANED UP. A 10 INCH SCREEN WITH 2 INCH LEGS. GIVES HEIGHT BETWEEN LOW RACK AND HIGH RACK. SILICON 6 DONUT PAN 2. A LEG, WING AND THIGH CHICKEN RACK WHICH FITS PERFECTLY IN PAN FROM PROBLEM SOLVERS ITEM 63K72. WHENEVER I COOK I ALWAYS TRY TO THINK OF SOMETHING THAT MAKES IT EASIER. ALLTHESE ITEMS MENTIONED ACCEPT DONUT PAN WILL FIT IN BOWL FOR STORAGE ALONG WITH THE ITEMS THAT COME WITH BIG BOSS. BASICLY I COOK ON 400 DEGREES AND ALTERER THE TIMES.

Worked great, until it didn't work at all.
I absolutely loved this thing for the 1st 6 weeks I owned it. I used it for most of my oven cooking and it worked great. The meat was always juicy and tender. Everything that was supposed to be crispy was crispy. Much better than cooking in the oven. It really does not taste like it was fried, because it was not fried, but it also was crispy without all the grease. I cooked everything from grilled steaks and pork to frozen egg rolls and burritos. The problem came at a little over 6 weeks when it suddenly quit working. I used it one night, then went to use it for lunch the next day and it did not work. The store that I purchased this item from was REAL CO USA. The window for returns was just past by a few days. They did not even reply to my request for help. As I did not receive any warranty information with my product, it would have been helpful if they could have at least told me that I had a warranty and how to go about contacting the manufacturer. I had purchased an extended warranty from Square Trade so I tried contacting them. They said it was under manufacturer warranty so I had to contact them. They did give me the phone number so that was a big help. It took me several tries before I figured out how to get to a person to take care of my problem. I will be sending it back to them at my expense. I will see how things go once they receive it. If this cooker would not have broken, I would give it 5 stars. As it only worked for about 6 weeks, I give it a 1. Even the greatest product is no good if it is broken.

Staying with the Boss
This is my third air fryer. As you can see in the picture, I replaced an earlier version of the Boss which stopped working after approximately 3 to 4 years of everyday use. Our family loves this appliance. Before I bought this one and looking for a change, I went out and bought a popular air fryer oven. Being skeptical that it would be better than the Boss, I unpacked it carefully so that I could repack it and return it without any problem. I'm glad I did that. I returned it that same day. As with the air fryer I returned, I found that most of the air fryers do not go over 400 degrees. I like a higher heat option. The Boss goes up to 480. I think that the big difference in performance is the halogen light. When I gave the air fryer oven (the one I returned) a test, it did not give as nice of a crisp outer texture as the Boss. It also took a couple of minutes longer to cook. In the picture the old Boss is on the left. You can see they went from a digital push buttons to analog dials. I prefer the analog, this it is a little bit quicker and easier. Another feature I like about the Boss, is that it is so easy to see how the cooking is going. Being all glass and with the halogen light cooking it is so easy to check on your food and keep it from burning. It is also easy to clean. Most of the time I just wipe it out. I also have a bunch of pie pans that I use most of the time which also makes it easy to clean: No crumbs falling down. A couple of times I have used the self clean mode which works good. The new Boss also came with a cooking screen which I love. It also comes with a nice user manual and recipe book. From one of the previous Bosses I have bought, I have a top holder which I think they should have as part of the included accessories. If I have a complaint, it is how long the last two previous ones have lasted. I hope I can get a little longer life span out of this one. However, as I stated it gets used daily and often several times in a day. I have also taken it to family gatherings to cook with when I know that there will not be oven space for my meal contribution. With the extension ring it is amazing how much I can fit in the Boss. I bought a casserole dish that fits in it that works for a large crowd. So in about 3 to 4 years I will probably be buying another. But at just over $65 it seems worth it to me. The one I bought and returned was $150 with a three year extended warranty. The Boss is a 2 year warranty. So if in over 2 years I have to buy another, I will still be ahead. With price, performance, and adaptability, I am glad I bought another.

Granitestone Air Fryer
I use this all the time. It's so easy I never take it off my countertop. It cooks things perfectly and cleaning it is so easy, since it comes complete apart and can all be washed in the sink except the top. I love the 360-glass design that lets you see how everything is doing as it cooks. Don't know why I waited so long to get one.

UPDATED REVIEW, The company responded and is replacing the defective unit. Very grateful as it is our main cooker. Would have been 5 stars except a 7 mo old oven should not have an exploding heating element. When it works, it is great! Stopped working mid cooking a meal. Only worked for 7 months. Contacted mfg, no response.

Great Purchase
At first, I am having a hesitation about this product, since some of the reviews are pretty scary such as burned plastic top. But my husband decided to get this one for me as a Christmas present, and I really fall in love with this air fryer. As a Filipina, I loved to make longganisa sausage from scratch, spring rolls, and fried chicken. This air fryer is the best one we ever purchased for it is healthy and I am also saving money now from buying oil at the grocery store every 2nd week. I got the silver one. I think the durability of the products depends on what color you got. They probably used some different materials through those fancy colored tops. I never had a problem with the silver one even I wipe and clean it all the time. It is July now, this has been with me for 7 months, and I've been using this fryer every week. The markings at the top have never been erased even if I wipe it with damp cloth all the time. And for those who were saying that this is hard to clean, It is not! Go get an aluminum foil and wrap the basket twice, also put another aluminum foil at the bottom glass if you don't want any oil leaking underneath. Can you make a food out of scratch from it? Yes! When I make my longganisa (sausage), I used a ground chicken and other mixtures that I need to put in, and it turned out great! You need to flip the food, so it will cook the other side, but for me, it is not of a big deal. I don't count that as a CON of this product because I usually do that anyway when I am frying on the pan, but at least I am doing it now for a healthy reason (NO OIL!!! I am saving 2.30 cents every 2 weeks). I also shared some photos of the chicken that I made. It will take time to do a regular fried chicken with flour mixture, but I have an alternate delicious one. I usually steam my chicken for 20 minutes, I am putting bay leaves and parsley on the water that I am using for steaming so the chicken will have all the aroma, I let it cool down and then seasoned it with salt and pepper then put it on the air fryer under 350 degree for 15 minutes per side or until it is crispy. This is actually best for a leg quarter, but I tried it this time with chicken legs. The skin is very crispy like the one at Max's Restaurant (Philippines). So, aside from review, I also shared a recipe :)

Great... When It Works
We ordered one of these in December and at first, it was great. Not as good as our previous air fryer, but very good. However, out of nowhere just a few months later, it stopped working. We contacted the manufacturer's customer service (just a generic "warranty" email, no functioning website or phone number) and finally got a response instructing us to take a photo of the unit with the cord cut (to prove it was nonfunctional) at which point they would send a replacement unit. We were told it would take six weeks to ship the new unit (!). We asked how to dispose of or recycle the old unit and got no answer. I understand them wanting proof the unit wasn't functional but why not just have us return it for refurbishment? Why cut the cord and doom it to a landfill putting the disposal on us? A few weeks later, our new replacement unit arrived. We wiped it down and washed it out for its first use. When we plugged it in and turned it on, the smell of burning plastic was so intense we had to stop it and take our food out. When we plugged it back in to try again, hoping the smell would "burn off," the unit wouldn't turn on at all and hasn't since. Our guess is that it was not a new unit at all. Now, almost two weeks and five emails later, no response from them at all. Meanwhile, we're now stuck with two nonfunctional units ready for the landfill and are out the money (and time) spent since it's outside of the Amazon return window. I rarely write reviews but people need to be warned these units are very hit and miss. Unless you're ok with cheaply produced disposable products that are going to end up in the landfill in a few short months, this is not the air fryer you want to buy.

Delicious, easy, and mesmerizing
We used this to cook chicken wings (from frozen) and pork belly (fresh) at the same time, and both came out delicious! Then made a small batch of bacon which crisped up beautifully. Then made bacon-wrapped jalapeno poppers and bacon-wrapped avocado slices. Next used this to cook frozen breaded chicken tenders and tater tots. The chicken came out juicier than if we'd baked it. Clean up is super easy, even though I keep forgetting to spray the wire racks and baskets to make it rinse faster. The food is delicious, and juicy. The kitchen doesn't heat up, and we don't have to pour gallons of oil in and then figure out how to pour it all back out again. This is FAR superior to a deep fryer, and I can avoid using nasty vegetable oils. It is very large, otherwise this would LIVE on my counter top because I can see using this for just about anything! The instructions come with a great guide for temperature and rack position for many common foods, including fresh vs frozen. I cooked things not on the list but was able to get an idea of how to time and temp set based on the many variations they suggest. There's a recipe book, as well, though all it really does is prove you can make anything in this appliance, there's nothing particularly spectacular versus what I'd normally make. The light is very bright when it comes on, and mesmerizing. We couldn't stop watching the first meal cook - it was fascinating! Best part was that it didn't heat up the kitchen while it cooked as our oven would have done. Okay, no, best part was HOW EASY clean up was. Seriously. I'll be using this for way more meals than I'd originally planned just based on that!

it does not work on 220 volts-
this product should not be sold on amazon.de as the product American appliances run on 110 volts, while European appliances are 220 volts. This air fryer does not work, and the supplier did not mention that it cannot be used on european electricity. Finding a voltage converter that could convert on 1300 watts, costs more than the air fryer itself. this is a total fraud.

Best air cooker you will find
This is my second one, first one lasted many years before the bulb finally burst, however I had to throw away the food I was cooking when that happened and it wasn’t replaceable but it was Sharper Image brand and not Big Boss. I use these air cookers for EVERYTHING, it basically replaced my stove for most of my regular meals as it cooks everything faster and better. I mean for things like a big lasagna or whatever I’d still use the oven but the air cooker for burgers, hot dogs, smokies/sausage, wings, ribs, meatballs, etc. Cleanup is super easy because the bowl can be thrown in the bottom dishwasher rack, but just keep a bit of tinfoil in the bottom as a grease trap while cooking and you won’t need to clean as often. Not only is this style of air cooker MUCH better than the other kinds, the size to price ratio is as good as it gets. You will pay upwards of $100-$200 for a tiny, name brand cooker where as this thing can damn near hold a while giant turkey. I won’t ever use another style, and I will always keep one of these around.
