Creamy chocolate Soylent drink UPDATE 11/29/2025
This is what will be 1st of many reviews of Soylent. I am in my 60's, 6' tall, 165 lbs. I never really cared for food. I eat because I know I have to. What I eat isn't very nutricious(?). Mostly frozen dinners heated in oven. I don't pay much attention to calories becuse I'm underweight for my height. Basically very healthy for my age - no diabetes, arthritis, never smoked and very little alcahol years ago. So Soylent sounds great. I ordered a 12 pack after recently getting blood test I'll use as a base line. I put bottles in refrig over night. 1st impression: Smells like any chocolate milk I ever smelled. Tastes pretty good to me. I prefer cold to room temp. I feel a little misled thinking a bottle will replace a meal which is how I took the promotion of Soylent. But as the bottle shows (and their promotion does indicate), one bottle contains 20% of most nutrients you need per day. So you need 5 bottles a day to get 100% of daily requirements based on a 2000 calorie diet. I don't eat 5 meals a day. And I'm closer to 1500 calories a day. My plan: I'm going to start by drinking 1 bottle per day to replace the desert I have after dinner. If I have no ill side effects and don't lose any weight in a month, I'll start 2 per day instead of lunch. My goal is 3 per day plus dinner with steady weight but better blood work which I'll have in 6 months with my annual physical. Cost: At approx $4/bottle $12/day is probably about what I spend on my unhealthy frozen dinner diet. If I can get better nutrician, I can talk myself into even 4 bottles a day - will see. Will keep you posted. UPDATE - Day 24: I am guessing the magnesium ( like in Milk of Magnesia) in Soylent is acting as a stool softener and has caused diarhea for the last 3 days so I paused the experiment until I figure how to counter this - maybe take "spore probiotics" daily? I'm not willing to quit - just a set back. UPDATE June 2025 I guess I'm lactose intollerant. I now take a probiotic twice a day and helps a little with the diahria issue. I now drink 2 bottles of Soylent a day which replaces my evening dessert and afternoon snack, I still eat the unhealthy frozen meals for lunch and dinner. I haven't gained nor lost any weight (not my intention to lose any) UPDATE July 2025 I now drink a 3rd Soylent 4 days a week to replace breakfast meal ( frozen waffles or sausage, egg & cheese on croisante). Still haven't gained or lost any weight. Unexpected perk - my blood pressure dropped from 140s/80s to 120s/70s. In case it's due to dehydration, I drink a gatorade once a day besides 2 glasses of water and the 2 to 3 Soylents. Next update will be in Nov when I have my annual physical with blood work and discuss Soylent with my dr. UPDATE Nov 2025 Dr. appt went well though blood work wasn't as perfect as I expected. Cholesteral and blood pressure were much better but others didn't show as much improvement as I expected. My dr. was more impressed than I was. I still rate 5 stars - this is a very good choice for those of us who are not into food.

No Teeth no problem
As someone who's always on the lookout for convenient and nutritious meal options, the Soylent Creamy Chocolate Meal Replacement Shake has become a staple in my routine. This ready-to-drink plant-based protein drink offers a perfect balance of flavor and functionality. I started drinking Soylent years ago due to an accident that made it to where I was unable to bite/chew foods and so required nutrition in fluid form. I do not drink Soylent for all my meals now, but it is a great choice for a quick meal when solid food isn't attainable. Let's talk taste first. The creamy chocolate flavor is rich and indulgent without being overly sweet, making it a satisfying treat any time of day. Whether I'm enjoying it as a quick breakfast on-the-go or as a post-workout refuel, the taste never disappoints. But what really sets Soylent apart is its nutritional profile. With 20g of complete vegan protein and only 1g of sugar per serving, it's a guilt-free option that keeps me feeling full and happy with my food choice. Plus, it's packed with essential vitamins and minerals, making it a well-rounded meal replacement solution. Convenience is another big selling point for me. The 14oz bottles are perfectly portioned and ready to drink, requiring no mixing or blending. I can toss a few in my bag for busy days or stash them in the fridge for a quick grab-and-go option. Overall, the Soylent Creamy Chocolate Meal Replacement Shakes are great. Whether you're looking to fuel your workouts, simplify your meal prep, need a liquid option, or just enjoy a delicious and nutritious drink, this product delivers on all fronts. I highly recommend giving it a try—you won't be disappointed!

Does the job
Reason for buying these meal replacement shakes is because my jaw is broken and is wired shut. Otherwise, I would be eating real food. I hate protein shakes due to the fake powdery flavoring. Thanks to everyone else's reviews, this really does have a rich chocolate milk taste. Because it is a soy protein and I am living on this stuff, yes, it does make you feel not hungry for a little while, but once it's digested, I fade on energy pretty quickly. I chose this over Ensure because it had higher calorie content..as i said, my purpose of using this is really for medical reasons and not for weight loss purposes.

Smooth, tastey, Filling.
Taste great. And im big on chocolate. Smooth, Not gritty like other meal drinks. My only gripe is how expensive it is. It is a meal on a bottle tho so 🤷

Literally obsessed
I wasn’t sure what to expect when i tried this. Theres mixed reviews, but more positive experiences than negative. However what I totally didn’t expect was the flavor. THIS IS SO GOOD in my opinion of course. Think of it as “hot chocolate with too much milk” type of flavor. Or the milk left over after a bowl of coco pebbles. But there is a viscosity there that is so creamy and makes it more filling. Sometimes you will come across some grittiness, but its actually satisfying (i like a bit of texture). The grittiness isn’t as severe as you think. Imagine, again, hot chocolate but all the powder isn’t completely dissolved. I absolutely love this drink and will be buying more. I may even try other flavors. Its perfect for the mornings when you’re on the go. But PLEASE people dont think this is something you can drink all day as a meal replacement. You will be so so so hungry!!! lol. This as a breakfast, lunch, or snack is perfect. Its gives the perfect amount of energy without the crash of caffeine. 10/10 would recommend!!!

Tasty, convenient, and reasonably priced
I love this product. I typically eat healthy but bland foods, such as frozen fruits, vegetables, plain yogurts, and so on. Whereas many reviewers are ambivalent toward the taste of Soylent, I personally like the taste quite a bit, feel that this drink is a treat, and would compare the taste of the creamy chocolate flavor to that of a cooled hot chocolate beverage. The drink is not as thick as I would have expected it to be, and does not have the noticeable traces of protein that are easy to taste, and to feel, in some other protein shakes. If there is any drawback of this product, it just goes down so easily! You can drink the bottle in under 60 seconds if you want to, and might be amazed, as I was, that you just consumed 400 calories. But the product is a huge time saver, in that you won't need to prep the meal (or the part of the meal) that you are replacing with Soylent, and in that drinking the beverage is fast and easy. I highly recommend this product for the price at which it is sold.

So Close to Perfect, But Far Too Rough on the Stomach
I have a lot of digestive and health issues. I get nausea really bad sometimes, which can make it hard to eat for days or weeks at a time. I get sick very often, and can end up losing 10-20lbs within a few days (which, on my 130lb body, isn't healthy). I easily miss out on nutrients and protein that I need. Sometimes I just barely manage to regain my weight and then suddenly lose all my progress again overnight. It's been so difficult trying to find a way to stay healthy. I tried protein shakes for many years, but I could never keep up with them. The first few would be ok, but then the protein flavor would quickly overpower me, and I'd want to vomit from my first sip. I always had more and more trouble finishing them the longer I was on them, and eventually had to stop because they made me far too nauseous. So I gave those up for a few years, but then I was straight back to not knowing what to do to keep my weight up. I tried every meal replacement shake out there, but they all made me sick and seriously upset my stomach. I'm lactose intolerant, so I just assumed the dairy was messing me up, and I quit using them. When my boss told me about these, I was so excited! No dairy meal replacement? It's the holy grail! Just what I've been looking for all these years! I compared a few brands, but went with Soylent, because they offer more protein, more calories (as a meal replacement should) and less sugar. Win-win-win. Unfortunately, it doesn't quite live up to the hype for me. The flavor is GREAT (chocolate), HOWEVER, it is incredibly sweet. Too sweet. A meal replacement really shouldn't be twice as sweet as any dessert you would eat after your meal. It's very tough to get through. I will say, unlike any other shake, this one DID satisfy my hunger for hours. It's the only one that's been able to satisfy my endless hunger (there was only one time it didn't fill me up). But because of the sweetness, it took a lot longer to get it down (meaning it takes longer to satisfy my hunger, as I can't just drink it in one go). It takes me at least an hour to drink one because of how sweet it is. Also, I'm not sure if it's just from being too sweet, or maybe protein itself is what makes me so nauseous all these years, but oh man, the nausea is soooooo bad from these. I never even finished my case because they make me too sick. My boss told me the chocolate is the most sweet flavor, so I might try again with something else and hope I can keep it down. I'm actually really upset that these didn't work out for me, because I had such high hopes that FINALLY something would work for me. But I guess I'll just have to search for something else yet again...
