Unsurprising Ending!
This book was kind of “OK”, not great, but just OK. The story is kind of ridiculous if you think about it for awhile. A singe US Army Ranger team survives an apocalypse now called the Advent. The Advent is when the human created AI decided that the greatest threat to his existence was the humans who created him/her. Yes, this AI some how became sentient without the humans who operated him knowing just when or how. Yet, he was already give control of the worlds military including all the countries outside the US. How that happened isn’t explained, but though the GAIN network the GAIN AI set all the worlds robots to attacking every living human. Billions were killed with others fleeing into the mountains or other off-the-grid locations away from an civilization.Yet, here was this Ranger team coming back from a mission in Africa which would have had them off-the-grid while the destruction of the world was taking place. And of all the worlds military, only they survive! Lead by Sergeant Logan Asher, they slowly gathered what civilians they could find and attempted to fight back against the rogue AI. They really didn’t have much of a chance since all the other worlds military had already been defeated, but Sgt Asher was smart (even though at times he sounds like a dumb hick) and he managed to win a few skirmishes with the AI. Then he finds another human called the “Progenitor” who happens to be a genius in computer software and hardware. He’s found a way to gain control of some of the robots programming and has been turning them into his own private army. He shares his knowledge with Logan and his “Shadowwalkers” so they build their own army.Eventually, in this final book of the series, all of these armies will have to meet to settle the future of humanity one way or another. While the story does come to an end, it’s neither satisfying or unexpected. You know something would have to happen instead of everyone just getting killed. I didn’t mind the ending, I just thought it was really unrealistic even for a science fiction book. What really bugged me about is book is the terminology or the slang these guys used to talk to each other. This quote, “you feel me” was said over and over all the time and it made no sense! It makes all the Shadowwalkers sound like a bunch of idiots and I know there not that dumb. The whole down and dirty, I’m a country boy language was really silly and detracted from the entire story. You get to the point that you just want to tell Sgt Logan to shut up unless he has something intelligent to say! Sorry, but that’s the way I read the books.I’m not disappointed this series has ended. It just didn’t make sense to carry this story line along any further.

Exciting
Things are not looking good, in the last book we lost one more Shadowwalkers and poor Doc has lost hope and is suffering from very bad PTSD. Forced to leave Cowboys cave the Shadowwalkers have moved their refugees out to Las Vegas. Living in flood tunnels is naturally prone to flooding so they have to be constantly watching the water levels. That seems like a very minor inconvenience when once again the robots find them and they are fighting for their lives. Greatly outnumbered, this time there is nobody waiting in the wings to save them. Can they pull another rabbit out of their hat?Terrific reading it's been great to get these advanced books to Beta read.

Good book, would like to see more of the characters.
I enjoyed the second book in the series about the same amount as the first. The same caveat I stated in my early review pertain as well to this one don’t kill your characters that your readers become invested in, second of all where are the bullet proof vest and protection that soldiers have, this is a near future story so they should have some sort of protective clothing vest or Scheels. And and how long is the time spent between stories,As a reader we have no idea how much time has passed. This third book is a little better. Not too crazy about the ending but there is potential. Willing to wait on what the author has to show us.

A fitting finale!
It's all or nothing time for the Walker! the robots keep getting smarter, but the humans also have a few tricks of their own. Faced with the final battle, Logan and team will determine their fate and that of all mankind. As with Isaac Hooke's other series, we can see the development of Logan, his primary character, who is tough but very human. You feel for the Logan and the rest of the team as they fight for their lives, and that of everyone they care for. This series has become one of my favorites.

Great Ending to the Series
This book is a great way to wrap up this thread of the story. The characters are reasonably developed by this 3rd book, but I enjoyed seeing the change in Logan as he knows he has a baby on the way. After a slow start of hunkering down this story is more of the same with the Shadow Walkers, with some help, finally starting to take the battle back to the GAIN network, all leading up to a climactic final battle.

The final battle for control of the Earth
Logan's crew of mixed badasses is on the prowl again, trying to clear out all GAIN's bots and restore the Earth to safety again. I love the banter between members of Logan's platoon. The characters are lifelike and clear, expressing their opinion blatantly. The storyline is strait forward and clean. The final battle in this volume isYou're just going to have to find out for yourself! This is a great read!

A great series
Fabulous conclusion to an outstanding series. Who to trust? Can humanity survive? Logan and his group of elite army rangers bring the fight to the AI. Stay safe and hide with your family or fight for the right to survive. While they are army rangers each has a distinctive personality that just grows on the reader. Compelling characters that represent loyalty, pride, and a strong sense of right.
