If you're new to all of this like me, you might have bought the raspberry pi 5, the passive cooling fan, and the freenove complete Starter Kit to play around with programming and electronics. Unfortunately, the passive cooler gets in the way off the connection between the chords of the freenove's GPIO extension board and the Pi's GPIO pins. This expansion board solves that problem, by extending the GPIO pin access beyond the passive cooler without getting in the way. It also splits the pi's GPIO pins between two different sets of connectors, which allows you to install hats on the upper set of pins while still having access to the extension board with the side set of pins. YRMV, but for me it works!

Very snug fit on pi5 but works. It is not going anywhere.

These fit and hold very securely. Now that I have them I find more uses for them and it really offers a lot of flexibility to designs to extend and avoid clutter. The height choice is perfect

I got this component because the offical fan on my Pi 5 is conflicting with some of my accessories, specifically hats. This is nice when it comes to duplicating pins and also good for remedying the reason above. There is a small design issue in the solder points which lightly touch the fan, but it seems to be negligible since there is no continuity from these solder points touching the fan. The other issue I have is that this seems to be very hard to insert and take off for me, I intend for this component to stay on indefinitely for my pi so this isn't much of a big deal for me, but it can be an issue with people who want to hot swap their components since the force required to insert and remove this from the pi is a lot. It has caused a pin on my gpio headed to bend but thankfully the pins on the pi are strong enough to be bent back with pliers.

I purchased this with my own money - as always, reviews are unbiased and have not been influenced by any third party Very useful if you want to have access to the goop pins on the raspberry pi while using a hat but unfortunately, this is quite unwieldy and awkward

These connectors are an excellent way to duplicate the GPIO connectors. Even when using a HAT that takes up the entire connector, you can still access the pins from the side. Highly recommended!

Expands the GPIO 40 pin connector to 2 connectors. The result is 1 vertical GPIO and 1 horizontal GPIO.

I bought these to use to pi hats for a project and i couldn't get them working but that could've been user error. These do seem like really good quality though.

Working nice, but the price is very high for this.
