Vegan Caviar
Good product. Made delicious hors d’ oeuvres with it.

Doesn't pop, no flavor, not even salty... expensive garbage, just little wet chewy balls of nothing
I wanted to like this, I wanted to keep my mind open, but ughhh. I had to add quite a bit of salt to this just on a cracker with creme fraiche, which should tell you everything you need to know... what kind of attempt at imitation caviar isn't even salty? Further, there's really no perceptible flavor at all, not "seaweed flavor" just nothing. And finally all the balls are solid throughout, there's no liquid inside at all, so instead of the familiar "pop" you should expect something more like tiny solid balls of moist black gelatin-like substance. I don't know why this has such high reviews frankly, unless it's all vegans who forgot what caviar actually is haha, but seriously this isn't even close. I threw out the rest of my jar after trying maybe 1tbs altogether, and I'll just be attempting to diy my own from now on based on reverse spherification using kombu stock or something (since all the ingredients can be had for around the same price as ~2x of these jars of inedible mini wet chewy balls, which is still nothing compared to the cost of real caviar ***assuming one actually approximates it well enough to substitute, which this product categorically fails at***).

pretty good and helps curb a craving for caviar.
For what it is, what it’s not (real caviar) and what it costs- this is actually pretty good and helps curb a craving for caviar. It’s really “crunchy” almost like Tobiko. Not as salty as some others but the lack of dyes in it- worth the trade off. Honestly don’t think you could say anything bad about this if you’ve had caviar, know you like caviar, and want something as a trade off for the price. It does NOT taste like true caviar but again- curbs a craving.

Almost like the ikea one
I felt nostalgic for IKEA’s seaweed caviar since my local one stopped carrying it so I got this. It arrived warm in the mail (hot day) and tried it at room temp and the taste was odd but seeing that I enjoyed IKEA’s one cold because it was sold cold, I put this in the fridge overnight and then enjoyed it much better when it was cold. Still is not the same as the IKEA one (the best one in my opinion) but the closest I’m going to get for now. Don’t compare it to real fish caviar. I am not vegan so I do enjoy the fish stuff as well but seaweed caviar is not supposed to be a substitute for fish. Seaweed is seaweed, it’s a plant, it’s supposed to taste different and not like fish. You wouldn’t eat spinach and be shocked it doesn’t taste like chicken, c’mon

Vegetarian approved! I **LOVE** this product!
I was a bit leery to purchase due to all the negative reviews. I’ve never seen a product with such biased reviews on both ends of the spectrum! They’re all over the place. I just received my black Caviart today, and I absolutely LOVE it! A full breakdown: *First impresssion, the size of the container is generous, when comparing to my usual grocery store shelf (real) caviar. I like the premium quality looking packaging of this as well, it’s very appealing. *Opening the container, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the product is NOT liquidy as some reviewers mentioned. Just like real caviar, it’s a solid product. Visual appeal, this looks like the real thing. *Aroma: there is no chemical smell as another reviewer insinuated. It doesn’t smell awkward or bad. *Solidarity: scooped just as I would real caviar, and it holds it shape very nicely. Perfect little “eggs” that are uniform in shape. *Taste: here’s the real test! Perfect little “eggs” that feel pleasant on the palate (very nice smooth texture!), that gently *pop* with a pleasant lightly salted flavor. No weird aftertaste. *Final thoughts: I LOVE this product, even better than the real thing, and I HIGHLY recommend it! This is not a novelty product, it is an amazing substitute to a vegetarian or vegan lifestyle. I’m absolutely amazed at how some of these companies put out such fantastic flavorful plant based products that are so similar, if not better, than the real thing.

Humm….
Taste was what I expected for vegan caviar but the liquid/ jell that it’s in is where the flavor is. Looks a bit slimy but overall - not bad for what it is.

Mostly thin tasteless liquid
I was surprised that the jar was mostly filled with a thin dark rather tasteless liquid. The "eggs" themselves were pretty good--I did not really expect them to taste like real caviar, but they had a nice texture and taste, and not too salty. But don't expect this jar to be filled with firm "caviar eggs." It's more like a slurry of mostly water with a couple of teaspoons of "eggs" at the bottom. I will not be buying again.

Good Substitute For Caviar (and cheaper)
Tastes very good. Not as salty as real caviar and perfect for naysayers who resist fish eggs.
