Let me start this review off by saying something we've all heard before, "You get what you pay for." I'm saying this because these pens are by no means perfect and I honestly wasn't expecting much when I bought them. I am however, VERY pleasantly surprised by how well these actually work. Sometimes the tips can be difficult to remove or difficult to get to stay in the pen far enough to make the light go on. Sometimes you have to press the tip down onto something hard to make it go in farther, but these things don't happen very often. To me, that's a minor inconvenience when you factor in the price of these pens and everything you get with them. All three pens work for me after putting 2 AAA batteries in each pen. The lights work well and help me to see the diamonds I am trying to pick up with them. There are 3 of each type of pen tip which could be very helpful if I were to unintentionally lose one because I have 2 more for backup. I like the weight of the pens in my hand after putting the batteries in them. I prefer a heavier pen when I am writing or diamond painting, so these are perfect. Easy to turn on and off when I switch from using one pen to the other, or I keep them on if I am going to be switching back and forth a lot. The case it all comes in isn't top of the line, but it sure is much better than you would expect giving how inexpensive the whole set is. It holds everything together and even has room for a few other things I wanted to keep with it. There's a bunch of wax to use for picking up the diamonds, which should last me for quite a while. There is also a roll of something that looks like white double-sided tape but I really don't know what it is and haven't investigated much. I am new to diamond painting so it might be useful for someone else, but right now it just sits in the case waiting for it's purpose to be discovered. All in all, if you are like I was and are looking for some better diamond painting pens with lights on them, but you aren't looking to spend a ton of money, look no further. Yes, they are pretty cheap compared to other similar items, but that doesn't have to mean they aren't just as good. They get the job done and you don't have to break the bank to buy them!

I am very new to diamond painting and got this set to expand my collection of tools. There are three battery operated tools, plus multiple attachments for placing 3-5 diamonds at a time. There is also a very good quantity of the wax; I doubt I'll run out any time soon! The light in each tool is bright and really helps with placement. The bag is roomy and perfect size for the tools plus my tray that came in my separate diamond painting kit. As others have pointed out, I'm not sure what the roll of tape is for. But this is a good set and is worth the price.

All in all, I really can't complain. What was I expecting for $7.99? First of all, the tips are extremely difficult to interchange, and they do not fit well. As long as you use the single drill tip, you're okay. If you try to use one of the multi-drill tips, they wiggle and fall off. In addition, when you try to apply the drills to your canvas, the light flickers and sometimes shuts off altogether. PS I tried the seller's suggestion to adjust the metal contact piece so that it can fully contact the battery. It didn't solve the problem. It'll be interesting to see how long these pens continue working. Pros: The set has a nice zippered storage case and plenty of wax. If you're looking for perfection, do not order this set.

I was fairly new to Diamond Painting when my friend showed me her lighted pen. Before this it was difficult to see whether the drills are flipped right side up, especially in low light settings. The brightness of this pen helps alleviate that. I've been using it for the last few months and I haven't had to change the battery yet. It's also much easier to grip than the flimsy pens that come with each kit.

The diamond art pens are a good buy! I prefer these over the plastic ones that come with the diamond art paintings. I don't use the light on the pen too often, so I can't comment on the quality of that. The wax mud works good to pick up diamond drills. The case comes in handy to keep everything together.
